And even if it could happen, allowing an English city in France would only have the same effect on France.

Not necessarily, if you add an independent Rouen to northern France, perhaps giving it a harbor or barracks, and then have the English spawn in England 1066, flipping as well Rouen, while there should be an independent Welsh city (as well as Ireland) to contend with.

Overall what this will do is force the French and English into an open war for control of Rouen, leading to (perhaps or perhaps not) a 100 years war, which is largely overlooked, as well as the Crusades in this game.

Also I meant, fully implemented German fix, right now it looks like it is in its early stages.

Why should I add a city to fight over that no one wants in the first place?

What are you missing, precisely?

It's true that as a player my first move would be to raze Rouen ASAP... Is it possible for France and England to have a -5 relationship penalty for "past events have proved you evil" or something, at least until the mid 19th century ? That would probably lead to more wars.

Before I've merged K-Mods naval invasion AI it would be pointless anyway, because the current AI isn't able to effectively conduct landings even only across the Channel.

This wasn't directed at me but when I just attempted to load up the Germans all of their UHV, the UP, the estimated loading time, the various ratings and the starting year were listed as XXX and upon attempting to load them the game I got the 'you have been defeated' message.

I just noticed my DoC folder also has a yellow triangle with an ! instead of green circle with a check mark.

The yellow triangle means that there is at least one conflicted file in your repository, which can only happen if you changed something and then tried to update it. Delete all the files with the triangle and update again.

Can I safely delete the Boost-1.32.0, Final Release Win32 and Python24 folders in CvGameCoreDLL? (Version 1.81)
Yes.

Although Holy City cannot be razed, during a culture flip, however, one can choose to disband the city. If this happens to the Catholic Holy City, building the Apostolic Palace later will not move the Holy City to where it's built, the Holy City is forever lost.

Okay, I'll remove the option to disband the city in that case.

Blue means that the files are not part of the SVN ... no idea what happened there if you didn't do it yourself. Best delete all folders that contain blue/yellow files and reupdate.

About Seljuk/Mongol invasion and the like, is it possible to let them find an empty spot to pop out? I mean it doesn't make sense if they can appear from inside of the city, stripping the player of any chance to keep the city intact.

The Seljuks seem to have a case of being techless.

Have you seen that for the Mongols, too?

Yes, just now. Playing as Byzantium, Sur was razed on start so I founded a city 1N of it (to deal with the Seljuks as part of the reason). But right at 1445 AD the Mongols found me and one of its army popped from the city, and pushed my longbowmen out.

I'll try to recreate the situation to make sure.

Hmm, the spawning of the Mongol hordes seems to be quite random. I'm not sure if it was my illusion or it only happens at times.

Who wouldn't want it? It controls the English Channel, and frankly Northern France, its a very important city placement.

What are you missing, precisely?

Well first off, why do the Prussians spawn in 1700? What is the special occasion for that?
Also shouldn't the Germans be renamed the Holy Roman Empire? And currently there needs to be a buffer (or two) between Russia and Germany. I haven't tried it yet, so give me a second to analyze everything.

But thats the thing, Rouen should stay independent but it will be heavily fortified with perhaps 2 crossbowmen and a wall, therefore ensuring that it stays independent. If you as the player want to throw everything at it, just to raze the city, go right ahead, but I'm saying that perhaps that won't be the best choice.

Also there should be an independent York and London as well as one city in Scotland, what this could be used for, is the Vikings. If you move the English to 1066, there will be more time for Viking UHV's or just scripted Viking invasions of England/Scotland to take place.

Also I started an Ottoman game, where because the Mongolians held Ikonion, Trabzon became my capital. Although this does not bother me too much, I don't understand why Ikonion (Konya) would not flip at all? Also remind me again why the Ottomans flip the Black Seas cities? It does not make much sense to me at all...
Also Islam should spread to Anatolia even before the Ottomans get there, because it seems as if the Seljuks cannot handle it themselves.
If anything there should be an independent Muslim state there, but it should be optional if the Ottomans want to expand there or not.

And you need to change the Kingdom of Germany to Holy Roman Empire for Barbossa LH

PS. Its surprising that the Mongols still cannot destroy the Koreans
PPS. You need to cap Orthodox Christianity to Eastern Europe, I've already gone to two games, where Orthodoxy had spread to Scandinavia and even Spain :?
PPPS. Scandinavia should start with a city in Denmark ;)
Denmark is always German, when in fact it was never part of the Holy Roman Empire

It doesn't do anything that Paris and London can't do.

Well first off, why do the Prussians spawn in 1700? What is the special occasion for that?
The Electorate of Brandenburg-Prussia became the Kingdom of Prussia in 1701, and that's considered the date where it became important as a European great power.

Also shouldn't the Germans be renamed the Holy Roman Empire?
They're usually called the HRE if they're large enough. But they can't really be called such in the civ selection screen because "The Holy Romans" didn't actually exist.

And currently there needs to be a buffer (or two) between Russia and Germany. I haven't tried it yet, so give me a second to analyze everything.
What makes you think one will be necessary? Have you actually played with the new situation yet?

Didn't it flip in your later turns?

Byzantium can't get a source of iron if Greece doesn't collapse (Greece will keep Athens and Sparta, thus control the iron), therefore can't product its UU. Any possibility to do some tweaks here?

Come to think about it again, there are actually a lot of iron around, it's just that they are not in Byzantium's historical area.

It doesn't do anything that Paris and London can't do.

Well, if your going for a more historically inclined RFC game, as your tag specifies, then the fact that the Normans are not mentioned at all in this game is very surprising. Heck the English should spawn in 1066, and give way for some Norman/Viking invasions to take place, otherwise the spawns of France and England are very boring, and lack the real drama that took place during that time.

They're usually called the HRE if they're large enough. But they can't really be called such in the civ selection screen because "The Holy Romans" didn't actually exist.

Well in the two games I loaded up, they controlled everything from Frankfurt and Denmark all the way to Kiev, which disgustingly powerful for them. So yes they should have been called the Holy Roman Empire, at the start of the game when they spawn they should be called the HRE, I don't see any reason for them not to do so.
And of course there should be independents, there should be an independent Poland at the very least, including an independent Hungary and Kiev (for the Novogordians/Muscowy to swallow up). Currently the HRE controls all of Central and Eastern Europe (up to Russia/Mongolia), this is really bad and should be fixed. Having a super strong Poland independent, would at least make sure for a while that Russia stays isolated on its side of the map, and the HRE stays on its side of the map, and perhaps have them conquer Italy more often.

Didn't it flip in your later turns?

It did flip the turn after, but with Trabazon as my capital, which wasn't very nice to see, overall I didn't care too much, but I don't understand why the Mongols weren't evicted, and Konya made my capital. (Frankly its a better city for a capital, as its also easier to defend).

Also I edited my last post with other suggestions.
