yeah too bad we can't see the Cree stomping another civ like the Americans. I kid of course. New India stream will be alright I suppose. I think a certain Cree person would be shocked at an early rush strategy using their scout units.
Uhh... I read some thread title about Cree spokesman not being happy about the Cree in civ, but is it something worse? Like are they not allowed to release them?!

To summarize the thread: The Cree are claiming cultural appropriation. We aren't sure if they have legal grounds to do anything, but they want 2K to make amends. We aren't sure if this has or will happen.
I'm sure there is a conversation in process. I dunno what the options are on the table. It would be nice if there were any actual Cree civ players he could hear from.
I'm also a little concerned that we haven't seen much on emergencies (or alliances!) yet. Hopefully it's a marketing roll-out strategy and not a "still in the midst of development" issue.

Yeah, I'm really curious about the emergencies and different types of alliances. Maybe those will be covered in the livestream next week or the week after that?

In addition to the governor upgrade trees we haven't seen yet, I hope they also show off the tier 3 government plaza buildings. The government plaza and all of its buildings give a governor title upon construction, so there is a connection, however tenuous.
I also think people are jumping at shadows over the whole Cree situation. Is everyone just forgetting that Chandragupta's first look preceded the Cree? It's only natural that his livestream would come first as well. Firaxis' marketing department has probably had all of these livestreams planned out for months, and I doubt they would alter those plans just because one guy has been criticizing them on the Canadian news.

Definitely, maybe it was originally to show off the alliances with Poundmaker, and that got temporarily tabled.
It seems like a good opportunity to show off the revamped 'existing' features though (that would fit thematically with a new alt leader) - like the relocated casus belli!
They choose the topic of the livestream based on the state of the game they have saved, not based on the civ they're playing as.
The same thing happened in one of the vanilla livestreams, where the deep dive into religion was from a game where they were playing as Brazil. They chose to show this game, not because Brazil is a particularly strong religious civilization, but because their starting location had happened to position them near two multi-tile natural wonders, giving them an excellent opportunity to generate loads of faith.
Likewise, this livestream will likely be from a game where governors proved to be particularly useful, and the fact that they were playing as Chandragupta at the time is just a coincidence.

Does anyone feel this was a last minute thing? We waited three weeks to only see one Civ and governors again on a Thursday? I’m excited to see Chandri, but unless there’s a lot more to be seen about governors that we don’t know of, it definitely shows that the Cree situation affected and changed their plans. I’d be more exited if they promised to have a lot of clues to be deciphered or more revelations, intended or not.
