Do you trust Maple Leaf Foods anymore?

In a news reel regarding the product recall it showed Mr Sub's open canisters of meats in selection being dished out over a 12 inch assorted sub

Now I don't go to MR SUb. Never did much since subway invaded but I make sure I tell others to avoid it beacuse they carry mapleleaf

Admittidly Im Not sure what the competion uses though I know MR SUb has mapleleaf so why chance it?

I trust Maple Leaf foods, it's the Harper government who lowered food inspection standard that I don't trust.

I wouldn't specifically avoid their products... but they don't make things I'm apt to eat in the first place.

I'm sure they've cleaned up the problem now as best they can.

With our industrial food production these sorts of things are bound to happen again.

Accordingly, we have stopped buying processed meats from Maple Leaf (and the other brand names produced by Maple Leaf). We never bought a lot to begin with, and we now tend to buy sausage & bacon from either local butchers or a much smaller Vancouver Island producer when we buy processed meat at all, which is a lot less frequently than we used to.
