Ever since I was a lad I used to wish I had a really big house and yard, big enough to invite all my good friends (and potential friends who I could always kick out later if they proven unworthy) to come live with me. We could all work together to keep the place in order and do fun stuff together every night. I still think about this often. Maybe I'll start an "intentional community" or something.

You mean like a frat?

yeah, go to uni and live in a house with all your mates :D

Erm, most males my age are the most slovenly, disgusting, unhygienic, douchebaggerist people I've ever seen. Even chicks are awful.

I'd sooner snorkle through my own bile.

As opposed to accidental

No, not one of my dreams.

No, something sustainable in the long term. Frat "loyalty" is a joke. College kids generally don't think in the long term. Well, neither to most married couples, or people in general actually. Hence the coming crisis.

why? its such a fun time.

What, college? Of course, but I didn't learn anything of use (well a little bit but mostly outside of class). Thank God I didn't finish or I'd be in even more debt!

What crisis?

Of course we are: "The readiness is all..." I thought it was something important. :p

I believe most communes ended because of arguments on who should do the dishes tonight...
(I'm being serious here)
(oh, the rolleyes are for the reason of breakup and not aimed at you Birdjaguar)

Heard of them. Not interested in joining anything already formed though, except to learn what does and does not work. I need to be a leader.

Ah, this slipped in at the end. Do you think there's a connection between the dream and the "coming crisis?"
No, I don't think so. I do think we evolved living tribally in large close-knit groups though (like the farmers in your favorite movie) and growing up siblingless with distant parents, in suburbia, somewhat of a misfit in a neighborhood with few children stengthened my yearning.

End of the oil era, disease, increasing environmental instability, war, take your pick. Personally I look forward to it because I know I will survive. :)

I will miss 99cent stores though. :(

And who got to sleep with whom while the dishes were being done.:mischief:

But the end of oil will be the beginning of something else! Find that wave and ride it. The back to the land communes found out that such a life was mostly hard work and involved self sacrifice to work. Low probability of success. Everyone wanted to be the leader. :mischief:

And who should clean up the condoms... :crazyeye:
Nobody used condoms in the sixties.
