Apparently Trump did so during his 4 year term as did most previous presidents. Maybe the bipartisan bill to beef up the border security would have been a good idea. Oh wait, Trump defeated it so he could campaign on border issues....

It is my sincere prayer that this election be not close so that we can avoid further internal strife. We have enough on our plate without being paralyzed by a prolonged election fight. For example, Israel is totally ignoring lame duck Biden and it is likely that Ukraine will end up using long range weapons inside Russia even if Biden continues to stand on his position against it. There are so many things that appear on the brink of spinning out of control that even a President Harris would be preferrable to this continued chaos. Yes, I just said that it would be better if the current liberal oppression continues rather than drifting into World War III. But, God's will be done.
That bill, btw, was just a typical Democrat attempt to pay lip service to an issue before an election. The Dems are never going to curb illegal immigration so long as they think it will increase their vote share.
Trump did not do as much on the border as he could have. And he won't be able to deport millions of people even if the GOP controls all three branches. The best we can hope for is slowing the tide.

The division in this country makes what I’ve seen within the Bush Jr Administration look like a kindergarten kerfuffle. At least back then “CHUD” was just an acronym for a B listing movie, the Alt-Right pipeline didn’t exist on YouTube and on social media sites, friendships weren’t broken over politics, and the culture war did not creeped into my hobbies from both fronts (At the time, it came mainly from the right personified by figures like Jack Tompson & Joe Leberman, Hillary Clinton, & Donald “Freeking” Trump repeating Tompson’s talking points).
This really isn’t the threads to go into full detail on. I wouldn’t classify Biden as a “lame duck” president. The Democrats have a majority in both chambers of congress (abet straddling on a knife’s edge). Israel is going to be doing its own thing because they’re motivated by revenge circling around October 7th and Ukraine wants to push back Russia out of their borders. I don’t foresee a Ukrainian push to go deep into Moscow (and repeating the same mistake Napoleon and Hitler made). This is as far detail I can go as, I said before, two major mega RD threads cover this topic extensively.
I’ve slowly come to the conclusion that Harris is a preferable candidate for president. I place all of the blame on this toxic political atmosphere and division on Trump dating back to 2016 (I know it goes back further with the Birther Conspiracy, I’m making it easy on myself to pin it around 2016). I blame Trump and his Ilk cultivating an Alt-Right pipeline and taking advantage of the anger and animosity of the anti-SJWs (later the anti-Woke).
I have to shake my head and facepalm at the so called “liberal oppression”. I can tell you, I’m a streight cishet white male and haven’t gotten a lick of oppression in the Biden Administration despite what quacks like Tim Pool and TheQuarterling peddled back in 2019-2020 making claims that I’d be “suffering under a woke communist dictatorship” and that I “will own nothing, I will eat the bugs and live in a pod and be happy” under Biden. I’d rather live in the current liberal order than a conservative one.
The claims of World War III is as rediculous as Tim Pool’s Second American Civil War.
For all that the damages Trump has done, I want Trump tossed in Jail and reduced to irrelevance and he gets disbarred from running another presidential election so I don’t have to see his smug face again.
Oddly enough, Biden kept the border policies from the Trump Administration. Or at least rolling back the more inhumane portions of Trump’s policies.
In actuality, the Democrats wanted to put forward immigration reforms while at the same time strengthening the security of the border. It was the MAGA aligned GOP that blocked any sort of immigration bill packaged in order to score political points and “PWNING the Libs”.

My bad, It's kind of hard to gauge the exact composition given there are coalitions and caucuses that the more non-MAGA GOP representatives would fall in that would more likely side and caucus with the Democrats (The classic New England Republican, AKA Rockefeller Republican).

Unintended consequence IMO.
The idea is to educate the student of the current intellectual consensus of what constitutes a bad -ism. These ideas are often unimpressive and riddled with double standards of sympathy, but they do inform students of them. The student succeeds largely just by this understanding; generally, understanding of these bougie protocols is a prerequisite for success in any American corporation not located deep in the sticks. It's often the only valuable skill students gain at college; the university therefore sorta has to teach it regardless of any other consequences.
Does it divide people? Maybe. Probably. You can sorta see that in this election; with a strikingly large number of advocacy groups like the noteworthy Zoom call White Women for Kamala seemingly self-segregating, consciously, presumably to avoid any conflicts of identity.
The most effective divide is with the actual working class, regardless of race, who pay little to no heed to these protocols, believing with some merit they've evolved to absurdities in some cases, or that the sympathies at play end up causing more unfairness than they solve.
There is not one Democrat in the nation which thinks illegal immigrants increase their vote share. When you lie about that, it doesn't change anything.

In any case I doubt that any POTUS can do much about it without having border crossers
machine gunned or finding SCOTUS nominations that would overturn the SCOTUS ruling.

It's my own opinion based on conversations I've had with people across Northeast Ohio, most frequently at work. I worked briefly in 3 different factories part time, stocked shelves full time, roofing, things of that nature. Train roundhouse was my favorite. I like trains. Too many chemicals there, though, so I split.
Lived in Cleveland, which is heavily Dem, and much more rural counties, which are heavily Repub, and small towns in between. In no place did the majority of the working population observe sensitivities progressives frequently expect.

Keyword, IF. Most everyone here does not want him to set foot back into the executive office again (or any other positions within the federal and state governments). The president doesn't just sit on his bum or go out goofing off playing golf, or perform strictly ceremonial roles like a head of state would. He or she runs the executive branch of the government and sets up the policies for their administration. Here's a little refresher:
Given Project 2025 is shown to be a glimpse or a sneak peak of what's to come in the Second Trump Administration. Most, myself included, don't want Trump and his underlings to pursue what has been outline in Project 2025.
Trump's goal is to stay out of jail, get richer, and punish his enemies. He won't care what the rest of his enablers and sycophant's do.
