 I was listening to this broadcast on the radio yesterday driving home from my kids' football game and I was wondering what the picture they were laughing so hysterically about looked like

"JD Hemsworth" lmao

So thanks Bird, I needed that:lol:

Meanwhile, 538 has Harris at 2.6% ahead currently with no polls showing Trump leading and RCP has Harris 2.2% ahead with only the Rasmussen poll showing Trump ahead by 2%.

OK, but what was the number Democrats have to win by, between official fraud i.e. the electoral college and grassroots fraud i.e. ballot tampering and burning?

2-3% popular vote win depending on who you ask.

But perhaps the numbers we should be looking at, are the polls in the swing states like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan and North Carolina. Trump - according to 270toWin - needs to win at least three of them to get to 270. He's only very slightly ahead Harris in North Carolina atm by around 0.8%. Harris has a slight or small lead in the other three. I'm worried about him narrowing Harris' lead in Pennsylvania a bit, according to the last poll made there.

It's a cat 5 at least unofficially now based on recon flights. Welcome to the new normal, rapid intensification was one of the big things we were warned would be common place under a warming climate.

Meanwhile the GOP doesn't have any urgency to get back to congress to vote for a FEMA boost.

Good heavens.

I hope it weakens before it hits Florida.

Milton intensified quickly Monday and was expected to become a large hurricane over the eastern Gulf. It had maximum sustained winds of 160 mph (257 kph), the National Hurricane Center said. The storm’s center was about 130 miles (210 kilometers) west-northwest of Progreso, Mexico, and about 720 miles (1,160 kilometers) southwest of Tampa at midday Monday, moving east-southeast at 9 mph (15 kph).

Its center could come ashore Wednesday in the Tampa Bay area, and it could remain a hurricane as it moves across central Florida toward the Atlantic Ocean. That would largely spare other states ravaged by Helene, which killed at least 230 people on its path from Florida to the Appalachian Mountains.

Hurricane Helene last week caused unreal damage to western North Carolina up in the mountains.

It is the 2nd deadliest storm to hit the US mainland in the last 50 years.

232 dead and hundreds missing still.

Hurricane Katrina easily 1st with 1800+ deaths.

Please God, deliver Uncle Milton to Mar a Lago and invite him in!

The heavens are angry, Hurricane Milton strengthened a lot!
With 180mph winds and a pressure of 897mb, it is currently stronger than Katrina.

Hopefully it weakens down to a Category 3 before it hits Florida before dawn on Thursday in the dark. :please:

From NYT.

Trump’s Speeches, Increasingly Angry and Rambling, Reignite the Question of Age

With the passage of time, the 78-year-old former president’s speeches have grown darker, harsher, longer, angrier, less focused, more profane and increasingly fixated on the past, according to a review of his public appearances over the years.

Former President Donald J. Trump vividly recounted how the audience at his climactic debate with Vice President Kamala Harris was on his side. Except that there was no audience. The debate was held in an empty hall. No one “went crazy,” as Mr. Trump put it, because no one was there.

Anyone can misremember, of course. But the debate had been just a week earlier and a fairly memorable moment. And it was hardly the only time Mr. Trump has seemed confused, forgetful, incoherent or disconnected from reality lately. In fact, it happens so often these days that it no longer even generates much attention.

He rambles, he repeats himself, he roams from thought to thought — some of them hard to understand, some of them unfinished, some of them factually fantastical. He voices outlandish claims that seem to be made up out of whole cloth. He digresses into bizarre tangents about golf, about sharks, about his own “beautiful” body. He relishes “a great day in Louisiana” after spending the day in Georgia. He expresses fear that North Korea is “trying to kill me” when he presumably means Iran. As late as last month, Mr. Trump was still speaking as if he were running against President Biden, five weeks after his withdrawal from the race.

Much more at link.

These kind of headlines makes me think if the water supply in US is tainted with lead or laced with narcotics or something!
From my perspective over the other side of the pond 2016-2020's Trump was okayish/tolerableish:undecide:...but now...how can the republican party really consider him a candidate for POTUS!?:crazyeye: Why couldn't the world have a Haley VS Harris!?:shake:

I guess one could say that Trump and his family are pretty tone deaf to the reality of Gaza.

He said the same thing about North Korea: that it has a lot of developable beachfront property.

His mind can't think in any more complex terms.

Reminds me of Lex Luthor's evil plan in Superman (1978), where he wanted to nuke the California fault line to split the state in half with a massive earthquake that would create thousands of miles of new beachfront property out of what was formerly sparsely populated desert.

It's a little surreal, how similar Trump is to an actual Bond/Comics supervillain.
