Are you saying run a white male Biden 2.0 (but not him)?

Candidate less relevant than actually presenting an alternative to Trumpism rather than essentially campaigning on executing Donald Trump's vision for the country more competently than he can

Of course, plenty of Democrats saying things like "this was unwinnable" or "she lost bc of sexism" which makes me want to hit myself in the head with a hammer...Democrats need to respond to this election by breaking and remaking the party

FOX News has called the election for Trump, including Pennsylvania. Trump is going to give his victory speech shortly.
That's way too early to call. FOX News is really jumping the gun here.

I don't know. MSNBC is in full advanced stages of grief, acceptance mode, doing a post-mortem, pointing fingers, warning, blaming, etc... CNN is in bargaining stage, letting folks down easy mode. Explaining and rationalizing. FOX News is in a strange, solemn, shocked disbelief mode... trying not to jinx the win... kind of what you see from fans who's team is winning convincingly, but there is still enough time for the opposing team to come back. Kamala Harris couldn't even bring herself to reassure her supporters and just went into hiding. Trump is getting ready to give a victory speech.

Trump seems to have won. I take no joy in saying this, but that seems to be the reality.

I don't think it would have mattered, honestly

I've been saying forever that as long as Trump (or someone like him) exists as the Republican nominee then the majority of votes cast will be entirely for or against him, regardless of who his opponent his, and which Democrat ends up getting picked to go against him will matter only a tiny little bit on the margins

But also Biden should have decided not to run years ago and let the Democrats have a competitive primary, I agree

NY times has a 95 needle. I'm going to bed shortly but this seems safe to say it's over. KH is putting off any statements.

If I were a tinfoil hat kinda person I'd say Democrats aren't even trying.
  1. Don't even challenge the oldest president in history
  2. then at last minute sub in the least popular VP in modern history who polled 3% in primary (in 2020)
  3. Keep talking about how nuts Trump is and give him all the attention
What could go wrong?

It really doesn't feel like Dems learned much in last eight years. Maybe by 2028...

Beats me why they're not promising billions in military bases, industries in the battleground states.

Tariffs are idiotic but I guess they appeal to peopke in tbe rust belt.

Throwing mud at Trump doesn't work. He's happy to roll in it for free.

If we still even have (fair) elections then

I'm actually skeptical the Republicans can ratfudg things enough to make voting completely irrelevant, mainly because Trump and his pals are, above all else, stupid, but they're sure going to try and I wouldn't want to bet on them not succeeding.

One thing that gets me is that Republicans are just going to ignore the state's rights precedent set by SCOTUS on abortion and implement a federal abortion ban anyways, despite a ton of folks enshrining abortion rights into their state constitutions in multiple states.

Can they do that?

It should be noted that elections still happen in places like Russia. They're just heavily weighted and cheated on towards the ruling party.

Also, some Republicans might want to try at higher positions, so they'll likely keep elections and just make it easier for themselves to win, just like they've been doing over the past 4 years.

Stop assuming anything other than malice on their part.

My heart weeps for the lgbtq community in America, we're going to suffer and hard.

Fascism has always been one step away, but now there's no going back.

Well expecting more how do I immigrate to NZ posts on our social media tomorrow.

President Trump huh?

I think the whole notion of the concept of "fear" would argue quite strongly against this assertion.

Wel that wasn't even close, looks like you all voted for Donald Trump,

every country gets the government it deserves, have fun with it for the next 4 years...
:D
I fear he will show up in Brussels before too long, they all do.
