Indeed - it's one thing having a light-hearted joke about stereotypes, e.g., writing bad angsty poetry and so on, but people should note that:Phase? It's not a phase for me or many people I know, it's life. Then again, we all hate emo and are only 'goth' in the broad sense of the word. Grunger/Metaller/Industrial is better fitting for myself.
* Self-injury is a serious issue, and nothing to do with emo, or goth
* Goth is nothing to do with emo, for that matter, except for the fact that the silly stereotypes that used to be applied to goths now seem to be applied to emo. Goth is an actual subculture; there's no clear evidence that emo is much more than a stereotype.
*And as I say, I don't know if the earlier poster was just joking, but it's sad that the random acts of violence are upheld as a good thing.
A thread joking about any other groups of people wouldn't be allowed, so I hope people can keep this one sensible.
I went through a trendy phase myself as a teenager. So glad I grew out of it! (Really though - I find it odd that wearing one type of fashion is seen as a "phase", but all the other mainstream fashions are not, even though they are probably far more likely to follow phases.)
