Explain why your country is better than the US

The UK is better for two reasons; we are far superior at football (soccer) and are food is better.

Food better. Look at us we obviously have better food.

-Abortion.
Bad

What's so great about unwanted children growing up unloved?

-Euthanasia.
Bad

What's so great about terminally ill people with no quality of life suffering needlessly?

-Better health care. As it's paid for by the government, bad

What's so great about people being sick and often dying because they can't afford it?

-Universities are affordable for all. Because that's paid for by the government, bad

What's so great about the poor remaining poor with no opportunity for advancement because they can't afford an education?

-We actually care about the environment. At the cost of your economy

Wrong, no good economy is possible without a healthy environment. And you're worried about economy, check out your own country's deficit sometime. That'll kill you more than any environmental programme will.

-No rampant gun violence. No, you all just get all your murderous feelings out on the unborn or sick.

Killing healthy people who desire to live is better is it?

-The police smokes weed together with you. Disgraceful

Better the police and public hate each other?

-We speak Dutch. Meh. Neither good nor bad

They also speak english very well.

What do you mean better food? Nowadays in all Western countries you can sample a wide range of cuisines. I sincerely doubt you're speaking about some obscure cuisine unavailable in Britain, but if it's Ugandan cuisine or whatever, fair play. However, in all probability it isn't, so it really boils down to the cuisines invented there. And what magnificent cuisine has America invented? Ultra-fatty burgers don't count.

I compeltely agree! Although I am American, I am fully aware that NONE of the food we eat, save for ultra-faty fried food, is one of our creations. We basically take "staples" from various countries, then we "water them down" intot some high-calorie, bland-tasting, fatty food.

Being a bit of a gastronomist, I must say that is it nearly impossible to find simple ingredients (e.g. chorizo, pancetta, flat-leaf parsley) that should be found everywhere, and if you do find a store that carries it, it is either low-quality or over-priced.

And in addition can take credit for that country being better, but not for it's faults somehow. Unless he's talking about his home country, in which case it would be pertinent to know which it was.

Barbeque.

Generally pork, with tomato, vinegar, or mustard sauces; most states have their own sauce and style of cooking. Granted, barbeque was an Indian thing (the word, I believe, comes from the Taino), but it's American.

:yumyum:

We have Hawaiian food, it is unique to America, and has many excellent dishes. I recommend Sam Choy's resturant if you happen to take a vacation there, its always one of my first stops when I do.

You mention taking a vacation there. Does that mean that it's not prevalant all over America? Just in a small state way off the coast? And even then, Hawaiian food is basically just a melting pot for other foods such as Japanese and Thai. Much of it is food you can find in other cultures.

They have the ability to strive to overtake number one. As an American, we are already the best, we are at the top of the mountain, and therefore we have nowhere to go but down.

The view is lonely at the top.

I don't know, probably the growing up instead of being murdered part.

That is, unless your childhood was perfect. If it wasn't then by all means kill youself I guess.

TV video standards.

NTSC is the one that the U.S., Canada, Japan, and Korea (among others) use.

PAL, which stands for "Picture Always Lousy," is used by other countries.
PAL is not used by all the other countries, but most of them.
France uses the SECAM system, which is of course the best.

Britain is famous for bad food, so that's not a great point to rest your case on. Maybe more comical food names, but that's a different issue. Limiting current possessions like food to your own inventions is kind of silly too - is Egypt better because it has irrigation, or the US better because it has telephones? (Britain's don't count, because they weren't really invented there).

Abortion has been legal in the US for 35 years. I heard they legalized alcohol too.

Most of the problem of the US could be solved by weakening the central government, Sure, there would be just as many religious idiots as a whole, but if states were fairly autonomous, you could move to a state whose government suited you better and you wouldn't be affected by the vote of that nut from Alabama. I mean, there are already differences between red and blue states, but there are pretty strong limits, for one since so much of the tax load goes to the federal government. If we were on more of a canton system, some states could have universal health care, some could have minimal taxes etc. Without a strong central government, offensive foreign policy would also be very hard to carry out.

I guess we'd be becoming more like Europe, with its sovereign states, while Europe is becoming more like us, with its Union.

Perhaps you should provide some reasons, rather than pure metaphor, as to why America is so great?
