Fall Further - The Original Thread

Just a small request. Vehem, could you please replace the Raiders promotion icon with another? I've declared war three times on seperate people, and only later found out they're Raiders Civs, and don't actually have Copper.

Not sure if its an error with FFH or FF, but I can pass Gela along to multiple units each turn, attacking, and then passing the equipment to another unit who can then attack and so on.

I've just removed the Combat line as an option for the siege units and given them a new line "Assault". Three promotions, each granting +100% city attack.

Doesn't city attack work significantly different from combat? Along the lines of actually giving a penalty to the defender instead of a bonus to the attacker.

With three Assault promotions (+300% city attack), defenders would need defense bonuses exceeding +200% before they even have positive strength.

Or has this been changed and I never noticed?

I don't think that non-living or otherwise immune to disease units should be able to be given plagued or diseased from exploring a dungeon.

I was also pondering having the "Turn Button" functionality removed altogether from it and keeping it as simply the Armageddon counter (mostly because I tend to use Enter or Shift-Enter to end turns) but it sounds like some people would miss the End-Turn button?

Well so much is done via the mouse, often times it's just easy to click the button. Besides, it then frees up your left hand for beer! =)

Another sort of 'comment/complaint': I said earlier how much I felt the new ancient forest was too dark; I also think many of the graphics like farm look very grainy and washed out. Is there a reason for this? I mean the farm graphic looks like it's done with wasted out pastels compared to normal civ. (At the time I am playing the 'indian' civ (whose name escapes me at the moment) and I've got the RoK religion.

Plus, (sorry to cram so much into one post) I question, just because a Civ is agnostic, shouldn't they have access to something like Confucianism or somthing like Secular Humanism? None of these are 'religions' in the sense of having a God, but they do have a codified system of conduct. Perhaps they could have 'philosophy' halls later in the tech tree that would be 'weak' temples. Plus, something like Shinto (an animistic religion) would also seem to work well for agnostic Civ's as well as the 'indian' Civ whose name I still can't remember. Even if you don't go that route, I think you should rename the 'pagan temple' to something like "Ancestor Shrine" since besides animism, ancestor worship is pretty much the first 'leg' in religion throughout all human cultures...which is of course a sort of stupid comment considering how many non-human races are in the game, but I think you get my point. =)~

First off, I really dislike how much harder it to click the end-turn button... Usually, I just use the mouse, and there's not much room for it now that you can't click on the AC number.. Secondly, is the BUGmod not working? I have everything enabled, but still don't get any alerts.

Edit: Nevermind, forgot that I had to restart after setting it up. Still a few options not working but I'm assuming those haven't been reimplemented yet?

Not sure what caused this, but it wasn't my 'normal' graphic crash. It was a CtD but with the Microsoft, "We're sorry but this application stopped working" error.

This is the info I got:
Something to do with the cvgamecoredll.ddll
ModVer: 0.0.0.0
OffSet: 001C1790

I was playing the Chislev w/5 other Civs, on a small Tetonic map on quick & Noble.

BTW, I must say, I've noticed a possible 'bug' or did I miss something. The evil lizard race (I now remember the Chislev, but can't remember these guys) declare war on me and somehow managed to get in two 'horsemen' deep into my territory as if they teleported there. No warning of "Enemy near such and such city" they just appeared and started attacking my workers. I've been hearing this weird spell sound that I have never heard before. Having never played that race, do they have some sort of stealth and/or teleport I've never heard of before? This sort of thing has happened before, especially annoying since it looks like as war was declared, some enemy units aren't pushed away or that for some reason they still get to move their 'normal' move regardless of being in my territory. What gives? Why do my units have to creep around when these guys zoom through my territory?

I'm seeing a small but noticeable pause when moving units and a few other places. A pause that isn't present in FFH. I find it most obvious opening or closing the city screen. The screen sort of "catches" just before fulling opening or right after clicking to close it.

Anybody else seeing this?

Yeah, a lot of FFHBUG was disabled until they can figure out how to fix some bugs. I for one really hope that the option to display both leader and civ names is fixed soon.

Regarding making Somnium have a bigger impact on the game, how's about a trait related to it - Gamesmaster? - which increased the effect of Somnium games on the wider gameplay; simply increasing the diplo bonuses from the leader would be a start, but I'm thinking more like a handful of extra effects which could be triggered by winning a game (limited to 1/turn or similar) - maybe temporary happiness in a city, some extra gold or research or culture as your citizens are inspired by your performance, perhaps extend golden age duration by a turn (rarely) and so on.
Are the reults of the game exposed for use? Scaling the impact or the ideas above depending on how big the margin of victory was would be nice.

I just built (well, bought, in advanced start) the new barbarian hero TumTum while playing as the Malakim.

-------------------

I've had several of games end in unexplained CtD's lately. I forgot to turn on python exceptions, but I'm thinking it may be somehow tied to the Infernals. In one game it crashed as soon as I researched Infernal Pact, and in the next it happened right after meeting Hyborem.

it would also be cool if some events could choose options where you are forced into a somnium game with another leader to resolve an issue. ie "Perpentach has sent emissaries asking if we could resolve this war through a game of somnium, rather than wasting the lives of our citizens. he proposes that if he wins we must give him [random tech] and [x gold], but if we win, he will give us [random tech] and [x gold]."

So ah. Is there anywhere I can find FfH2033b, while I wait for FF to be updated to FfH2033c?...
*faceplant*

I mean. I could just try installing FF over patch c of Fall2... but.... Last time I tried that kind of thing... Well. XD I guessed wrong.

Great modmod Vehem!:goodjob:

Some suggestions for unique features-

The Grand Inn-
The birthplace of Somnium, this humble Patrian Inn became the size of a small and very wealthy city. Abandoned during the Age of Ice, the Inn's gold remains unclaimed.

Provides 1 gold resource
Large Commerce Boost

Could use a reskinned Tavern (made to look abandoned).
