The current style is meant to be the successor of Modern CFC style.

We have a forum style coming soon that's Civ6 theme. This Civ6 theme style will be made the default theme.

Bit late to the party but it looks like the migration to a new forum software has gone well. :hatsoff: I was worried about the move since another gaming forum I used to frequent moved to a new forum platform some months ago and the results have been disastrous.

So...this means that all past posts with [TAB] and/or
    Column 1
are now broken and there's no chance they may be fixed?

Those are custom BBcodes which is a feature built in. So some custom BBcodes we used to have will come back. I added some back already after the migration, such as spoiler and urlsame.

Glad to see some of the smilies back. There are still some missing such as

    :goodjob:

    :smoke:
    :thumbsup

The existing posts are junked up with it’s instead of it's. Not quite sure how to clean up the problems with that.

If I get an ad that wants to play a "movie" for lack of better description, this makes that page of the forum essentially unusable for me. I have to browse away and then come back to that thread hoping that this time it is a "static" add. I have 8.1 with explorer 10*

    * I think it is 10 and not 11

Your best bet would be to switch to FireFox LeeS and then install an ad blocker like "Adblock Plus" and/or "Adblocker Ultimate", IE10/11 is pretty hopeless stopping ads and if the ads are interfering with your browsing capabilities for whatever reason then...

The ads on mobile are so bad (huge, intrusive, recently started appearing at the bottom of the screen while reading) that it makes me want to check out tapatalk for the first time ever.:/

Can we go back to the small banner ads?

PS - Other than that, I am enjoying the new home and its features now that I'm used to it.:)

The smilies button has an extension to the right showing all those smilies we know from days of old.

Cool. I'm still wondering about that number next to my profile pic. Are they good or bad numbers?

There's a reason why there are ads in CivFanatics.

How about those who donate a certain amount can view the website ad-free without ad blockers? Many websites have this feature, including those that use XenForo. They would also get a fancy "Donor" banner as well.

Those I listed are still missing. I reviewed old posts, and we still need more uploaded. The group added was incomplete.

This is the worst bulletin board software package that I have ever seen, bar none. Site navigation is not at all intuitive. Links are hidden until you figure out which visible ones activate others. Drop down menus are much easier to use than this system. Visually, this package is abominable. The all white background is hard on the eyes. The text font is awful. Personally, I find serif fonts easier to read than sans serif. However, if you must use a sans serif font, pick a legible one. There are many good ones to choose from. This one is garbage.

You do realise that all the issues you describe can be, and are being, addressed with a new style? The software that manages the forum is a totally different matter to the style that you dislike so much.

We will migrate them into a new CMS.
This will take some time as there is no automated way to do it.
But we will get all the articles back for sure.
Currently I have a placeholder for it: http://www.civfanatics.com/

Slight problem with these - you don't appear to be able to name them. Which is a bit of an issue for me, as my designs thread made extensive use of the feature, but I understand it's hardly top priority.
