EDIT @Cheetah : Nope, gives me an error, "You may not report this content." So basically I don't have permission too ^^ o_O

There doesn't seem to be an option to change one's signature either.

Trying to access the page manually ( http://forums.civfanatics.com/account/avatar ) gives another permission error.

Accessing this link works for me.
Accessing http://forums.civfanatics.com/account/personal-details does not thought.
And yeah, cannot see an option to edit the signature.

@Cheetah - Yes, I did. But this may have something to do with how your 'Alert Preferences' are set.

There should also be an alert from me editing your post.
I'll start checking my preferences when I get comfortable with the normal use of the forum I think. :p

Also, have you edited one of my posts? Can't see it, and haven't gotten any alerts for it.

What I did get an alert for though, was this:

I'm not sure how happy I am with a forum software announcing that "somebody likes me"... o_O

This is the link to report my post directly above yours.

It's actually just the direct link to the post, with "/report" appended, like so: http://forums.civfanatics.com/posts/14460496/report
As The_J suspected, it looks like it could be a permissions problem - I get an 'Error: you may not report this content' message from that link. Perhaps it is related to different usergroups - The_J had been in the 'retired mods' usergroup, which had granted him a particular badge. I had been in the 'super mod' usergroup. Ryika also was in a special/unique usergroup, I believe. So the question might be whether any regular forum member who isn't in any special usergroup can report a post.

As someone with ADD and a horrible memory, I made great use of the "go to first unread message" icon on the left-side of each thread. But I noticed they seem to have been reset during the migration. Is this just something that'll work itself out when the process is completed, or do I need to go into each thread and try to figure out where I left off? :(

Would be ironic if mainly mods couldn't report posts ^^

EDIT: @shaglio : It's not completely reset, just not completely up to date, a few days lagging basically.
EDIT2: Why does this not auto-convert the username into a link o_O?

Yeah, cannot access that either.
How did you even get there o_O?

Nobody likes me :(

Regular links can be made to look really good and button-like with CSS, so it basically just makes it easier to make new themes.

This current look really needs to be updated though.
Sure, I just wanted to emphasise that this is something the new themes should cover.

ainwood already said that tapatalk takes up to much resources, so if the forum already works on web (I haven't tried myself) then it would be better not to install it.
So far we only know that it does take up resources, but not how the "too much" manifests itself. Is it a cost issue? Performance was usually good to acceptable with the old board so it's not like tapatalk killed it.

Besides, on the more technical aspect, is there more to do than to expose an API for the functionality tapatalk needs? It's a bit confusing where the performance load comes from.

The top item I've noticed is the lackluster default forum style. However, as Thunderfall notes in the OP, new forum styles are in the works. I realize this is relatively low priority compared to getting front page content back online. Maybe recruit someone into working on the styles separately? Just throwing the idea out there.
I think Thunderfall already was very generous to hire someone for the migration, asking for additional outside help is a bit too much to ask imo.

I'm not sure about the priorities though. This is a community first, so the forum functionality should have priority over the front page. I don't know how regular users interact with CFC but I almost never visit the front page. Conversely, for irregular/new visitors it is more important to give the actual forum a distinctive/non-generic look to emphasise the status of this community.

This new forum software is very flashy though. Lots of alerts and popups and bells and whistles all over. Stresses me out.
Agreed, and most of that is convoluted and pointless.

Look at how the big ones (Twitter, Facebook, Youtube) do it, web design should be clear and to the point. Things like this should not exist, or at least be configurable.

Yeah, cannot access that either.
How did you even get there o_O?
Just by editing the avatar-url (which I also why I posted the wrong link). ^^

It shows an access violation instead of an "page does not exist"-error (which appears when I type in some additional letters), that's why I figured it's probably the correct link, just not accessible.

Can anyone figure out how to change the custom user title? (e.g. mine is 'one post per month.')

I thought it might be 'Status Message' in the 'Personal Details' section but that just seems to add a Facebooky status to your wall (and also appears when you click on someone's username there

<----

mine now says 'What does this do?')

Oh, is that where the status hangs out?

This might be one of the currently inaccessible customisation options.

Interestingly, it appears that I can currently edit everyone's signature, custom user title, etc., except my own and other moderators. This seems to be because the edit option is only accessible via the 'Moderator Tools' menu, which operates differently on my own page.

Like a few more things here.

Well, look on the bright side, now we can compete in Most Post, Most Likes, Most Points, Most Media, Most Albums, and who can be Staff Members! ...

I cannot see "most media" and "most albums" o_O (and only TF is a staff member right now)

And thanks :D

I think you just posted on your own wall...I guess.

None of that is available for me. ^^

Weird...

But alright, I'm posting this from my phone!

It works perfectly. Nothing to complain about mobile-wise.

Think I will increase my posting rate while on the phone now.

You got that @Thunderfall? This is pretty good.

I'm starting to get comfortable with the new software now.

How about emojis from my phone? If this has proper Unicode support, it should work fine!

‍‍‍️

Edit: Awwww. My emojis got stripped away. :(
