TF, Is there a minimum post box size?

When people only post 1 line of text, the free space under the poster's sig is quite large. IIRC it wasen't that big before the update. It is all ok when you write a longer post.

I think it's same as before. When you write a short post, the height of the row is determined by the left column (user info).

You are indeed right TF .... I haven't looked at the left part of the screen.

If you are talking about the yellow box that apears when you hover over a thread name, then that works for me.

This is something I don't understand. Why have flood control on search? How can that be necessary?

Well, flood control on Search was enabled before also, and I do see the point, because Search probably slows down the forums if done too much, but before the upgrade, if your search didn't return any results, you didn't have to wait another 60 seconds before being able to search again.

Actually in the past flood control was set at 100 seconds, but fortunately it has been reduced.

Would bots (ab)use the search? And ad-sites, why would they want to search here?

If flood control on search really is necessary, wouldn't 5 or 10 seconds be enough? One minute is beyond crazy. Sometimes a faulty search does come up with results, but not the results you need, or simply too many results. Then you must search again and it's not fun to wait.

With no flood control, the number of searches here grows too large for the servers to handle. Many people remember when search was turned off completely, because it slowed the forums to a crawl. Since then we have had the servers have been upgraded, and TF has turned search back on. But the limit is there to keep from flooding the site with searches.

I think it is just temporarily banned people, you know, so that, when they are banned, they still get all the PMs they missed when they were gone.

I think they mean suspended. Banned = expelled = no entry.

Yes .... while being banned posters can lurk in the forum and use PM's but can't post.

I say this because 2 posters PMed me while being banned wanting me to update a thread for them.
