Nothing like the Oblivion soundtrack right now for a calming experience.

At first I liked Morrowind and Skyrim's soundtrack more, but now I really appreciate the relaxing atmosphere of oblivion.

You should share it, years living far away from home make me drawn in childhood nostalgia seeking for game music that I played backthen. Glad I made this thread so I can share it with other ;)

My first triple post in Civ Fanatic, who care? this is EU 2 soundtrack, I gonna start from one of its best:

Falalalan, the vocal sound like a dying ducks, however the combination with the music make it awesome and classic.

Another good music from EU2

Another work from Motoi Sakuraba in Valkyrie Profile, "When a person change", not as good as "Epic Poem to Sacred Death" but still a good music.

I always wait for you to comment Kyriakos, because I want to say thanks for the warcraft 2 music that you put on, now I listen to it regularly, I really love the music that you put on ;)

Castlevania, Michiru Yamane, "Successor of Faith", a quite underrated game music in my opinion ;)

Castlevania: Symphony of the Nights, again compose by my favourite composer Michiru Yamane, "Requiem For The Gods".

I never good playing red alert, peoples hardly defeat me playing AOE, I guess I'm better on medieval war. The music sound like somekind a disco rock or something, you quite have a board taste in music. Maybe because I'm getting older, 30 just around the corner, my taste in music becoming lots softer. :)

You might like this one, again, shamefully, compose by my number one composer Michiru Yamane, for the game "Symphony of the Night" -playstation- Rainbow Cemetery

I don't know, is it a good idea if we rate the music (1-10) scale of someone that post before us? maybe it can more interesting and interactive.

Although SotN probably had even better music, Castlevania IV (one of the only two titles of the series i had) also was excellent in that respect:

I really admire Michiru Yamane works, the fact that she is behind the making of the soundtrack of SOTN is one of the reason SOTN arguably one sery of castlevania that have the most powerful soundtrack, in my view of course, and I can listen the SOTN soundtrack from beginning till the end with so much appreciation.

But nevertheless as you say, there other powerful and great music in other Castlevania. Beginning and also the famous Clockwork from Castlevania 3, is one of the example, I bet you really love this cover:

:)

The series has indeed many excellent pieces of music.

Same goes for some other japanese series of games, eg Secret of Mana, Zelda, even some tracks from Metroid. Obviously there are many great composers of this sort of music in Japan.

This thread would benefit from some significant spoilering.

Ben Prunty is my favorite game music composer ( http://benprunty.com/ ), especially the music for FTL. Mantis, Space Cruise, and Milky Way are my favorites from the FTL OST.

I also listen to the World of Tanks OST and the Tyrian OST ( Asteroid Dance ) occasionally,

and the Starbound OST (Europa is my favorite track)
