I'm trying to picture where on the political spectrum to place state propaganda and its opponents.
We have far more political propaganda that federal propaganda. The most ardent and persistent political propaganda is right wing.

I promise you that observation is because smells that are familiar are familiar.

Federal propaganda would be just as gross.

This new department shouldn't have the power to prosecute is all I'm saying.
They have a lot of catching up to do to reach the levels of the GOP since talk radio began 30 years ago.

She thought the Steele Dossier was for real and Hunter's laptop wasn't and her reward for being wrong is to identify disinformation for us. She cut her teeth spreading truth and integrity in Ukraine.

Is Biden right wing? I'm trying to picture where on the political spectrum to place state propaganda and its opponents.

Biden is definitely right wing, not sure what the confusion there might be...

a PSA group from homeland security is fine btw, honestly we need more PSAs, they are effective over time and they are not seen anymore considering all the streaming these days.

Still, its a slippery slope. Be careful what you wish for.

No. Its really not, you people have had the worms eat so much of your brains you forgot what a society is and how one functions minus this dystopian instinct of destruction the right wing seems so bent on these days.

CNN, 3 May 2022 - "Collins calls draft Roe opinion ‘completely inconsistent’ with what Gorsuch and Kavanaugh said during hearings and meetings"

I rolled my eyes so hard, I think I gave myself a concussion. What a clown.

Rolling Stone, 3 May 2022 - "
Susan Collins Is Shocked That Trump Appointees May Have Lied to Her"
Vanity Fair, 3 May 2022 - "Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski want everyone to know they're the real victims of Roe v. Wade being overturned"

Rolling Stone said:
In a twist that everyone but the senator saw coming, it turns out that rabidly anti-abortion-rights justices did indeed intend to overturn Roe vs. Wade
 This is one of those stories that The Onion can't even touch, because what would they add? To paraphrase the old saying, it's "Donkeys all the way down."

Susan Collins is shocked... SHOCKED I tells ya!!... :shake:SMFH *facepalm*

Better yet... *Picard facepalm*

Better still... *Picard double-facepalm*

When I think of how hard she grandstanded with her nomination of Kavanaugh... *sigh*... Oh, Kavanaugh lied to you? You don't say?!?... Idiot.

*In Oversimplified voice*

Kavanaugh - :shifty: 'Vote to confirm my nomination to the Supreme Court and I definitely won't not refrain from not betraying you and voting to overturn Roe v. Wade in the future.'

Collins - :scared: 'Sounds... good...' :crazyeye:

I guess I take a rather more cynical view of this. Is it a betrayal or this whole thing just a performance by Collins? She's smart enough to be a Senator, so I know which way I lean.

Right, I guess that's another part of why folks like myself and I believe @EgonSpengler are quote, "rolling our eyes so hard as to almost cause a concussion" at Susan Collins right now... essentially... "Are you really expecting us to believe you're that stupid?" She comes off as such a transparent tool... trying to pretend that she's a victim of some dastardly deception by Kavanaugh. If she was "lied to", it was at best, due to willful blindness, at worst she was wink-nodding.

It reminds me of the scene in Casino, where DeNiro's character refuses to let the well-connected cowboy remain on the casino's staff, when an obvious machine-rigging plot is discovered... (paraphrasing) "You didn't know something was wrong when the second machine hit? Either you're completely incompetent or you were in on it... Either way YOU'RE OUT!!!"

Don't worry; the path to Democratic victory is through moderate Republicans.

Well once upon a time, a SCOTUS nominee's position on abortion (or guns or any of the other hot-button issues) wasn't considered a reason to vote for or against them, they got a yes vote unless they were not qualified for the post for some reason. Even Lindsey Graham recently referenced this, though he naturally proceeded to slither his way out of upholding it.

Still, its a slippery slope. Be careful what you wish for.
I agree that this will definitely be used by the next GOP POTUS to advocate for whatever fake moral panic they cook up once CRT hysteria goes out of fashion.

Establishment Dems being incompetent at preventing our slide into fascism or straight up handing over the keys isn't new or surprising.

This is an intriguing perspective and I can't tell if it is more optimistic or cynical. Please elaborate.

It's a bitter joke...we're always being told the Dems need to appeal to people like Collins to win but doesn't this whole charade prove how dumb that idea is?

People like Collins and Murkowski currently insulate the Senate against the vagaries of Sinema and Manchin, or at any rate, preventing the latter from having an even bigger negative impact.
