Please show us the video.
I'm not sure if I can post such a thing here

Just saw a second video where another policeman got smashed, this one was an empty ish intersection no riot police nothing, just a regular cop. Both videos from nyc

Funny, not a single comment from Russian human right watchers. Grave silence.
There were so many reports and discussions of one incident when cop hit a woman during protest in Moscow last year.
Different country of course, but not a word this time.

It was inevitable this is the reaction to outright escalation by the police. They keep giving the more violent people reasons to attack them they are going to get attacked. Frankly speaking my sympathies so not support this kind of insurrection. Than again I've never seen a government both federal and state levels so recalcitrant toward the people.

I'm not sure it's a total slam dunk that US military deployed with orders to keep peace and prevent violence in US cities automatically sides with the cops

Well, the military beating and shooting cops might work, but I don't see that happening.

A bishop of the Episcopal Church is on the radio, ripping our so-called president a new one for his photo op at their church, and for his generally being an inhuman scumbag (she's being a little more articulate than that, I'm paraphrasing); Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, a Republican, yesterday did more or less the same thing; and a work-friend of mine who self-identifies as a conservative and who, I think, voted for Trump, is fed up with him too.

In other news, someone on another radio program mentioned that there's a law about suppressing insurrections that empowers the President to deploy the military, I guess without violating the Posse Comitatus Act. It's what allowed Eisenhower to deploy the 101st Airborne to enforce the Supreme Court's ruling, and George H.W. Bush to deploy soldiers to L.A. during the Rodney King riots. In the former case, AR Gov. Orval Fabus had ordered his National Guard to refuse the Court order and block the school; in the latter case, CA Gov. Pete Wilson requested federal help. I believe CA Gov. Gavin Newsom has said he does not want federal troops in L.A.

The police went over to the side of the people and did the same. They do it right. Why should things disappear?

Is not the primary reason for the second amendment to prevent the state enforcing their will on the population with guns? Is he not telling people to shot at the police?

It's not the primary purpose but it is a purpose. When the 2nd Amendment was written, the idea behind it was to keep the populace armed so militia could readily be raised to supplement the regular army if needed. This is because the Founders envisioned a nation that would only maintain a very small standing military with security largely being left to each state.

There are peaceful protests going on across the country. The rioters are just looking for an excuse to vent their bottled-up quarantine rage.

Interesting idea...so that means people that protest and rioters, are not afraid of getting infected? And...if china really made this virus with intention to weaken west, I think after all that is happening and who knows what's gonna happen, they are quite succesfull , but that just conspiracy theory...I hope.

Just utting this here for the record, not to celebrate or anything like that, but damn last night was hectic:

One cop hit by a speeding black car, ragdolls into a white van, splayed out on the ground, in the Bronx.

Another cop on the ground, Midtown, unknown why.

Another got attacked by a paltry mob but the way he was walking he might as well had been hit by kittens.

So thats 2 cops down in NYC, 1 attacked on video. Scores more probably hurt.

A marshall or some cop got shot in the head in the Circus Circus, Las Vegas.

Four cops wounded in Saint Louis?

Looking through the Livemap now....

"3 officers injured on Bailey last night around 10pm. One Trooper was run over; treated at ECMC for a shattered pelvis and a broken leg; 2nd Trooper suffered a hand/wrist injury was treated and released" - Buffalo, NY

The air force base shooting I would think is a safe bet has nothing to do with the protests. We don't have any details, but it happened on the base, in the dorms at 4:30 a.m. No protesters gonna storm a military base, in North Dakota of all places, so shooter was a soldier, just need to find out why.

Yea I removed it. There was also a officer wounded at Davenport yesterday; but I'll focus on last night.

Do you know what happens when you fire a gas canister at someone's face point blank? You can kill them. This is attempted murder. Nobody stops it from happening, nobody arrests the shooter. Every single cop in this riot line is a bad cop. This is what ACAB means.

Yea I mean I cannot support law and order like this. These governments have lost all moral authority to govern. Even if this if is quelled for now the table is being set.

No surprise this is happening during a pandemic. historical violence and disease go hand in hand back and forth.

As far as the 3rd degree murder charge, I think they want to make sure the case is a slam dunk that's all.
Yes I believe the charges filed were tactical in intent in that if they went for 1st degree murder they would likely lose the case.
Considering recent history and the infamous poison water supply I was pleasantly shocked to find out Flint MI happened to be a real bright spot. I make fun of Gennessee Sheriff Chris Swanson because he's never met a camera he doesn't love and is always hamming on the local news but I have massive respect for how he handled this. This a short article worth the read if you want to know how a PD with actual good apples should handle these protests.

I saw him on PBS last night and man I wanted to hate him because he seemed like such a showboating camera hog but you know what? He did exactly the right thing.

Trump has gone on tv, thrown a bible around, smiled, and acted like he was winning, and spouted about Martial Law, or W/e.

So now the riots will probably get worse, spread out more, and leave him with hot **** in his tiny little hands; his blustering about the military, law, and order, peace and being admonished at the spilling of innocent blood will get in his face.

He also used troops to clear away peaceful protestors.
For those of you that missed this in the noise -
There was a peaceful demonstration outside the White House yesterday afternoon. After a call with governors where Trump demand they 'dominate' the protestors, arrest them and give them 10 year sentences, he decided he wanted a photo op. To get it, he ordered the police to violently eject the peaceful protestors. I've seen the videos and you would have thought they were taken in Tehran a few years back. The police opened up with tear gas and rubber bullets and charged at the protestors with shields and batons like they were cosplaying The 300. In the melee, they targeted journalists, including an Australian news crew who got absolutely wrecked by the cops.

Then when the protestors were gone, Trump marched over to a church, without ever having told the Bishop he was coming, so that he could stand in front of it with a bible and pose with a scowl on his face for a photo. He said no prayers, offered no sympathy or calls for unity. He just scowled with a loaned bible because that was sufficient for Fox News to run stories about our god fearing leader pulling the nation together even as the fabric of society is ripping at the seams. When asked by a reporter if he held his own bible, he replied, "It is a bible".

Fox ran propaganda stories for hours using the photo op and demonized the peaceful protestors who were violently attacked and otherwise put on a vibe reminiscent of state run media in Libya circa 2011.

Honestly, Bernie Sanders could run as an independent, in this atmosphere, and I am curious how well he'd do.
Most likely outcome is he'd split the vote and Trump would win.

It astounds me that after the last 3 years of America acting like a complete douchebag on the world stage that we somehow still manage to retain enough goodwill from the rest of the world that people all over the planet are marching in solidarity with us. Honestly at this point it probably isn't even deserved, so destructive have we been on the world stage in this administration - and that's putting aside our endless military misadventures spanning multiple administrations. I hope that if this administration ends we can retain a place of warmth and affection in the hearts and minds of the world but I have an ominous feeling that these sympathy marches are the last gasp of desperation from a world that has hoped in vain for years that we can actually change.

People feel solidarity with American citizens, not the US government. But chances are, if you dig deep enough and if people are aware, they also don't feel solidarity with US conservatives (except the racists around the world, maybe).

Conservatives are the plague in your society.

Least adventuresome assclown of a president with the US military in 100 years. The other rising power pole sucks even worse the closer you get to them. We don't even have our **** together enough to run a proper black bag state with blue dye firehoses, much less virus tracing. We're going to be rowdy in full view. Watch for when people demand the capacity be developed.
