Gr7 - AWM vs 30 civs on a giant map

Just thought Lee would like to know we may have that fourth lux on this landmass in our future. :)

Actually that is a very mixed bag. Luxuries tend to be distributed based on the number of civs on a continent. If we have a 4 luxury on the continent there could easily be another four or five civs below choke triangle.

Yikes. I hadn't thought of that...
Never a dull moment with this game.

Continent games should be 2 big landmasses and some small Islands maybe. With 30+ Civs in the game we could expect some 10+ Civs, so far 2 have been eliminated (Byz, Mongols) and we have met others, so maybe another 1-2 down there?

Let's just hope that Germany is on our continent so we could grab the super wonder SunTzu.

Matt, I think you should try and expand and get at the Sumerians. As for armies, I agree knight armies are so much more powerful.

Well don't forget they built SoZ. Germany is probably one of the bigger civs out there...

Logic puzzle.
Step 1: Luxes in standard C3C games are limited to 1 continent only.
Step 2: The Maya have Ivory
Step 3: The Maya are on your continent
Step 4: The Statue of Zeus requires Ivory
Step 5: The Germans built the Statue of Zeus
Step 6: The Germans built Sun Tzu's
Step 7: The probability of Sun Tzu's being on your continent is very high.

This is the mystery part of the equation. Is it a native source, or IMPORTED? If imported, this logic is shot.

It has to be native because CivAssistII says they have 6 sources.

Of course there could be a large island that has it and the Maya found it and are shipping it in. Germany could have bought it or found the same island.
I am thinking of the equivalent of Greenland in LK's WM mod.

It's more likely though, that it is on this continent and so is Germany.

My apologies for not knowing this sooner, but I need a skip.
Work has totally blown up in my face and I will be working 12 hour days for at least the next week. We are just too understaffed.
Sorry for wasting 2 days guys. :(

I can take it. I have two others to play tonight so if Mark can take it tonight great, if not I'll play in the AM.

I have it. LK-CIV is first though. I'll post progress reports.

I have seven turns played. Nothing dramatic yet. The choke is stronger. I'll have it posted tomorrow.

Pre-flight – 950 AD – Kill three Sumerians. On the eastern front, it appears that the Egyptians and Sumerians are making a move on our right. I will attempt to fight a holding action there while pushing up the left in a possible flanking action. Move two spears to the mountain next to Choke Triangle.

IBT – Lose the two spears on the mountain.

960 – Kill a boatload of enemy units. I just stopped keeping track. We lost one sword. Kill the MDIs on the Choke mountain. Place a mountie army up there.

IBT – No attacks, although a stack of Dutchmen approach the Choke.

970 – Found Goigouen.

IBT – Feudalism=>engineering – MM to get it in 10.

980 – Continue killing invaders. We are marching north on the very left of the eastern front.

990 –

1000- Found a city on the left , and march forward on the right.

1010 – Attack Kutha with our armies and…

Tracks show new AI interest in Chaledon. We get a slave and a cat.

1020 – Complete some forts in the choke. Attack Nagsu, lose two Mounties and…

IBT – We lose a mountie army to the Sumerians. It was covering a captured cat and two slaves, so they are lost.

1030 – The Choke was busy this turn. Got all but a Roman archer and a redlined Dutch MDI. Start marching on the next Sumerian city, Kua.

1040 – Recapture the slaves and cat. Capture two more slaves. Set up for Kua next turn. Sumeria is down to 19 cities. We have something like 61 cities.

1050 – Attack Kua, kill the six defenders and…

Collect three slaves and a cat. We should settle at red dot and green dot.

Here is the choke:
GR7_-_Choke.JPG

We need some more forts as indicated. We also need to clear the marsh and jungle in front of our defenses. (yellow triangles) We are starting to get some nice killing zones.

Here is the east:

Play hit and run defense over here. Red arrow is where Sumerians and Dutch have been landing.
