we're not dead yet...
...but it's been going steadily downhill

.
Save
Turn 0 (1000BC): Looks a bit hopeless. Save a few gold by buying IW from England for 12, and declare. There is an iron source S-S-SE of Teo. Sw Teo to settler. We'll die without iron, so better try.
Tlaxcala is defended by archers only, so better a desperate attack then. Kill 2 archers, 1 merc at Tlax, lost 1 archer. Will prob lose some IT, carthage is too close and has roads.
Research to Math at 50%, 25 turns

.
IT: Our jag warrior flees from merc attack, smart guy. Kill 2 greek archers in Teno, only 10 zillion more to go.
Teno spear -> spear. Riverdale riots because stupid gov has reallocated tiles IT

.
Turn 1 (975BC): workers cannot do much because there are some Greek visitors in the middle of our lands. I don't feel like dislodging 2 hoplites from a mountain, really.
Not much to do, there's nothing to attack.
IT: Carthage moves to riverdale, that's bad. English show up. Kill 2 greek archers, the two hoplites leave the mountain, but step on an improved bg. Tlax walls -> rax.
Turn 2 (950BC): kill Greek archer. Jag tries to kill another but fails miserably and retreats. Riverdale is in a tight spot but it cannot be helped. There are now so many units in our lands that our cities officially cannot support each other anymore. Move our units out of Tlatelolco, perhaps it will draw a crowd. Would like to move a spear from Teno to Teo to prepare for big settler push, but we don't have one. Carthage is also moving a settler up
IT: Ruse worked as all enemies move north, and no pillaging! Purple horses on the horizon. Teo settl -> spear. Tlate jag -> jag. River jag -> jag.
Turn 3 (925BC): 3 jags and an archer kill 3 Carthaginian archers, 1 jag retreats. Bit lucky there, but 1 archer out of pos. settler pary on the way. MM is rather hopeless.
IT: Numids appear in force, no less than 8. Kill the traditional Greek archer at Teno. Portugal goes for Teo, not good.
Teno spear -> spear. Greeks are building the Great Wall - they'll need it

.
Turn 4 (900BC): lost elite archer against archer in Teno - uggh. Will have to gamble a bit with workers to get iron hooked up - we're awfully thin. Discover Teo has no walls, so switch to that. Switch river to spear. Empty Tlate again.
IT: 8 mercs and 3 hoplites converge on Tlate. English show up with a sword

. Spear at Teo forces portugese horse to retreat. And then, to top it all off:
Turn 5 (875BC): elite jag kills redlined horse. Move some troops to Tlate, but it will be dicey if the numidians attacks.
Found
We Were Here First! -> walls. Switch Teno to archer, river to spear. sci 40% for a turn.
IT: kill 3 mercs at Tlate, no losses (spear is now elite). Tile pillaged near River, couldn't be helped. English add a boatload of warriors to their sword. Teo walls -> archer.
Tlate jag -> spear.
Turn 6 (850BC): move archer from River to Teno, spear from Tlax to River. Switch Teno to spear again

. We are about to be overwhelmed at Teno by fresh English forces... sci 50%
IT: kill 3 mercs at Tlate, lost 1 jag. For some reason the rax in Tlate didn't heal the spear. What's this?
Portuguese want to talk but I say
no way!. They reply by sacrificing their warrior at Teo.
Kill three Greek archers at Teno. Hoplites pillage, there's nothing to do about it.
Teno spear -> archer. River goes unhappy again because the governor.. well you guessed it. I'll give them a scientist, I'm tired of this nonsense. Carthaginians also need a wall.
Turn 7 (825BC): elite archer dies against regular warrior. What is this??? Rax worked this time, thank you. Workers move to iron, connected in three turns. Tlax might fall any moment now, I switch it to spear. Teno is in danger as well, 3 spears against a sword, some archers and a box of warriors.
IT: kill another merc, but suffer a pillaged tile as well. Invincible Spearman kills eng warrior at Teno, and we get a GL on defense!

Lucky break, just hold out a few more turns and we'll have a sword army. Kill eng sword and 3 warriors at Teno, as well as a greek archers. Greek hoplites pillage another tile, dunno what to do about it. Our empire slowly disintegrates. Force a port horse to retreat.
River spear -> spear.
Turn 8 (800BC): unfortunately cannot kill horse without exposing ourselves. But wait - we would be exposing to a settler-warrior pair  Leader builds army and starts moving towards Teo. Lost a jag against redlined merc, stupid move really.
IT: Car decide Tlax is a better target. kill 4 Eng warriors at Teno, and then it's RNG payback time: 2 spear die against 2 Greek archers. Party of 3 greek hoplites pillages again. Teno riots of course, and will probably fall next IT.
Turn 9 (775BC): Riverdale needs a second scientist and is losing food. Tlate gets a scientist as it has no productive square available. Teno also gets a scientist to stop the riot, we'll be running a specialist nation here. Only way to get some science done - 9 turns to Math. Move a jag to Teno in desperate attempt to save it.
IT: well, here we go. Kill merc at Tlax, but lose spear and jag to 2 other mercs and Tlax is taken by evil Carthage. Kill 2 Eng sword, 2 Eng warr, 2 Gre archer at Teno but lose the spear. It is now defended by a jag :/.
Tlate spear -> spear. Portuguese also start GWall, what are these guys afraid of??
Turn 10 (750BC): haven't moved anything.
There is a MGL in Teo. Workers on iron should finish this turn. I think we may survive if we pull back towards Teo and We Were Here First! We'll have iron, and the sea at our back.
There are many more mercs around Tlax and Tlate. Carthage has Zeus, but nothing seen sofar. Greeks come from the North, English and Purple guys from the east. England has iron.
