going to say no. You could say it's partially tangentially related but I'm going to say that you won't get to the answer trying to go down that line.
Like it's almost to the extent that it's just that the countries here have militaries, you know

no, I could have made that clearer, but the grey ones (antarctica coloured) have the valye 0

It is pretty difficult to see the gray scale for some countries. Eg is Greece at 2 or 1? (Albania 2 or 3?)

As for the map, it seems like something related to industry, but I'm drawing a blank here.

you could make some spurious claims but like

this is a specific thing, but you could say it's got something to do with a bunch of unspecific factors

like it's not weird America is so far ahead if you think about it, but it's not because their industry is three times better than any other industry in the world, if you understand

I've read about them before. I knew the US had 300-something, and the UK was number 2 with like 100-something, so that seemed like a good guess for me.
