Gray = None? Not Applicable? No Data?

There are some very deprived bits of the world in red, but also some in green.

Gray: countries that don't have this
Green: countries that have this
Red: countries that had this, but no longer do

Recognition of Taiwan or Palestine?
 
Well, I edited in "or Palestine", so if it's neither of those, I don't recall a third nation.

I'm disappointed, I'd have thought you would chose North Cyprus, but I guess that would probably be only Turkey herself... ;-)
 
I would think it was about former colonial powers, but Egypt is all green,,, And no green in Madagascar, so scrub that.

pink is English
blue is French
light green is Portuguese
black is Swahili
orange is Afrikaans
grey is indigenous language

I was thinking the dark grey/ black was German, which didnt really work. Stuck on the post colonial thing.
 
My question would by, why does the Central African Republic not have a color? Is it a lack of data, or is the map related to them?
