Tulips or tomatoes or greenhouses?

Discard the tulips, nicely guessed! It is the tomato yield, measured in tonnes per hectare:

Ethnic minorities?
Some are glaringly missing (kurds in Turkey), but there is a suspicious degree of overlap with ethnic or other minority areas.

Could also be some kind of "special rights" territories. Not sure why it includes all of Australia, though :)
 
Ethnic minorities with a region recognised by the overall countries government.
 
I am not sure if China recognizes anything, though. The baltic triplet should refer to the russian minority, so maybe it is just minorities recognized by official treaty.
I think China has different laws for Uighurs in Xinjiang.
 
In the US, the small spot on the east coast is Washington DC? And the big area in the middle is NOT Yellowstone, but some area over the Dakota's?

Given that Nigeria is on there, does it have something to do with natural resources?
No. Not everyone would agree more is bad.
