Guess the Map IX: The Richese are no match

Well, i had a new idea, how about a map of the places a computer game features as specific locations in its world?

:)

Will surely give more clues, although in theory some might even guess it from the map and the first clue. The places are: Ireland, Syria, France, Spain, England (i hope those were all...).

Why are Scotland and Wales coloured as well if only England is mentioned specifically?

I'll take a guess at Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars.

England is used interchangably with UK in Denmark at least. I think Kyriakos is riding the very same discourse.

Correct answer :king: That was a very good adventure game.

(as for England/UK, i was too bored to color only a part of the map which already had the borders of countries nicely formed).

That was unexpected. I couldn't remember whether the desert section was in Syria or Morocco. :)

I'll just put something up since the thread seems quiet.

This map displays two things- please guess what they are.

Former dependencies of both the Soviet Union/Russian Empire and the Ottoman Sultanate?

There is some pacific micronation there too. Past protectorate of Japan or Britain i guess.

Btw: Isn't the Easter island part of some nation? (Chile or something of the kind).

I'll let you guys keep at it for a day or two before I give the answer... no-one's got it so far.

You're supposed to give us (i.e. me) a hint.

All right, the country in yellow is Guam. That's a hint.

Also, the colours used on the map are arbitrary- they don't have any special meaning.

Ongoing disputes on en/exclaves and such, I'd say.

Nagorno-Karabakh / Nahicevan
Moldavia/Bessarabia/crazy separatists
…

OK, here's the answer:

The yellow shows countries which are a member of GUAM, while the red shows countries which are Guam.

It does seem like territorial disputes with Russia/Russian client states are the main reason behind GUAM's existence.

because its looking dead ...
