Bribe England to be in alliance vs. Greeks for Physics

Not the smartest move ever. England's existance was very helpful to us.

Turn 6 IBT- Egypt wants to renew peace treaty, I agree, since we have our hands full w/the Greeks
Turn 7 IBT- Egypt & Mongols have an alliance against us

A classic AI move- declaring war one turn after a peace treaty is signed. :lol:

At war w/Greeks, Aztecs, Mongols, & Egyptians

Everyone but Germany? We've been rogue stated!

I can take this after my turn in TT01, which I am starting now but may take a couple days to do, war turns tend to take much longer. I think making peace with the Greeks may become a priority due to our considerable war weariness. If I can burn a few of their cities, that may help get a better peace deal.

Choxorn- How was keeping England alive helping us?
When I made that deal, I didn't realize how few cities England had, or weak they were compared to the Greeks.

They blocked them.

Now that they're at war Greece can totally own England.

They are owned and gone, I believe. Guys, we are losing this war. Greece will give us peace for 100 gold, I'm inclined to take it and bide my time for tanks. Ay objections?

Yeah, England's dead. And so will we if we can't hold off Greece.

I reccomend burning Mylitene and the city they have in old Carthage, then re-building the neutral zone barrier and keeping them out.

I'd go with Choxorn's plan, but if there's a massive attack coming make peace.

I have played, we are currently at peace with Greece. The no-mans land is secure, but does need a blockade. I doubt that we should use too many workers there, and right now, we can blockade the east or west with our current roster, but not both. We could build more Infantry to strengthen the blockade. Our war with Greece could resume any tiime. They have units fortified in our territory, which we should tolerate for now. War with them now is a losing proposition, and will be til we have 30 tanks. We can't talk to Egypt right now, so there is no peace to be had there. I want the war with the Aztecs and Mongols to continue for now, we need the war happiness those wars are giving, and should they land settler pairs, we can gain some free slaves. Anyway, here is the turnlog:

Spoiler :

Pre-flight: CivAssist 2, Word running. Get the save loaded. Look things over.
Lower Lux slider to 10%, the WW is not that bad yet. Raise tech slider to 60%. Re-establish Spice colony. Protect exposed workers.

IBT: Endless bombardment by Greek and Egyptian Ironclads. Some rails destroyed. Greeks land a Guerilla, 2 Cavalry trot in.
Persepolis Infantry=>Infantry.
Pasargadae Cavalry=>Cavalry.
Arbela Cavalry=>Cavalry.

Turn 1, 1680 AD: Lose 1 cavalry killing 2 Guerillas, 2 Cavalry and an Infantry. Greeks will give peace for 100 gold.

IBT: More endless bombardment by Greek and Egyptian Ironclads. More Greek Infantry move in.
Pasargadae Cavalry=>Cavalry.
Susa Infantry=>Cavalry.
Antioch Cavalry=>Cavalry.

Turn 2, 1685 AD: Bombard Infantry and Guerilla in Sebennytus, 2 cavalries later, it is gone. Small victories…
DoW Germany, we need Berlin gone, 1 cavalry does it. That’s all I wanted. Now I can get to the Egyptian towns.

IBT: The usual. 4 Infantry, 3 Greek Cavalry visit.
Persepolis Infantry=> Cavalry.
Pasargadae Cavalry=>Cavalry.
Arbela Cavalry=>Cavalry.

Turn 3, 1690 AD: Red-line and kill 3 Greek Cavalry, 4 Infantry.
Re-establish Dyes Colony.

IBT: The usual. 3 Infantry, 2 Greek Cavalry visit. Plus, Egyptian Ironclad kills ours and our Ivory Colony is plastered, one redlined Infantry overrun.
Pasargadae Cavalry=>Cavalry.
Susa Cavalry=>Cavalry.
Antioch Cavalry=>Cavalry.

Turn 4, 1695 AD: Redline and kill 1 Infantry 1 Pike at This, re-establish Coal colony. Bolster defenses on our regular Ivory tile, as we will lose the colony.

IBT: The same old stuff, this time Egypt lands a Guerilla, Pike and Longbow at Persepolis, 1 Greek Cavalry and more Infantry. As expected, Greeks overrun Ivory colony and destroy our Galleon.
Persepolis Infantry=> Cavalry.
Pasargadae Cavalry=>Cavalry.
Arbela Cavalry=>Cavalry.

Turn 5, 1700 AD: Lose 1 cavalry razing Oryx, 1 Slave taken.

IBT: Greeks and Egyptians are stripping every Oceanside tile with their gazillion Ironclads. Our regular Ivory tile is also being plastered. I think a inland tile might be a good Ivory to colonize, the Iroclads are killing us.
Pasargadae Cavalry=>Cavalry.
Susa Cavalry=>Cavalry.
Antioch Cavalry=>Cavalry.

Turn 6, 1705 AD: Destroy Mytilene and Syracuse, make peace with Greece for 20 gold.

IBT: Egypt keeps bombarding, I am going to do the same thing with them.
Persepolis Infantry=>Granary.

Turn 7, 1710 AD: Destroy Bubastis. With a military cordon around Tsontsengel, I re-establish a worker cordon around old Carthage.
Bombard as many Egyptian Ironclads as I can.

IBT: Egyptian Ironclads damage some units, 1 tile.
A mace is landed beside Persepolis.
Persepolis Granary=>Wealth.
Pasargadae Infantry=>Wealth. (Gold is good)

Turn 8, 1715 AD: Lower Tech to ^0% get Combustion in 1 at 56+gpt.
Take a potshot at every Egyptian Ironclad in reach, but there were too many for our artillery stack to hit.

IBT: More Egyptian bombardment, no real damage, though their presence disrupted our income enough to delay Combustion a turn. Aztecs land 3 MDIs and a Pike near Susa.

Turn 9, 1720 AD: More potshots at Egyptian Ironclads.
Redline and kill all Aztec intruders.
Lower tech slider to 0%, hire a scientist at Susa, at least we can make scads of money out of our overrun.

IBT: Less bombardment this turn, many Egyptian Ironclads go home to heal.
We finally get Combustion, next is Mass Production, in 11 turns at +11 gpt.
Arbela Stock Exchange=>Destroyer.
Antioch Hospital=>Destroyer.

Turn 10, 1725 AD: Bombard Tsontongel’s Infantry and Rifleman to red-line them, raze the town with no casualties. Old Carthage fully blockaded.
Kill a German spear guarding settler, grab 2 slaves.

We finally have some decent ships, and I've been using them and our artillery to bombard and sink a bunch of Mongolia's ships.

We have peace with Germany and Egypt.

Pre-Turn (1725 AD):
-I don’t really see why Pasargadae and Persepolis are on Wealth, but oh well, we’re getting gold.

IBT:
-The AI’s move their dozens of ironclads, and Greece unloads a bunch of units including some settlers in the west.
-For some reason, Greece feels a compelling need to fortify Infantry near Antioch and prevent me from clearing pollution. Al Gore is not pleased.
-Susa: Stock Exchange->Destroyer
-Our people want to build Wall Street.

Turn 1 (1730 AD):
-Clear Pollution, Railroad, and send cavalry to attack the German city of Hannover. It won’t be hard to keep Greece out of that area, and I grow tired of Germany's settlers. Blocking just Greece out is hard enough.
-Cav retreats
-Cav kills spear, city burns (1-0)

IBT:
-Greece builds two new cities with their settlers, simultaneously depriving us of both Coal and Dyes. :mad:
-We catch Cleo trying to plant a Spy.

Turn 2 (1735 AD):
-More bombarding of ships.

IBT:
-Egypt requests peace for 100 gold. Fair enough, you weren’t giving us war happiness and 100 gold is small enough that I’ll pay it.
-Mongolia unloads an Infantry and a Keshik next to Persepolis.
-Greece builds another city in no-man’s-land, destroying our Ivory colony. But, at least they’re finally leaving Antioch, and we have another Ivory within Antioch’s borders.
-Speaking of Antioch, it has built a destroyer and begun work on Wall Street, to be completed in 6 turns.

Turn 3 (1740 AD):
-Bombard and kill the Mongol landing party, but not before losing an Elite Cav to the (redlined) Inf. (3-1)
-I would LOVE to go send our destroyer to sink Mongol ships now, but the oh-so-considerate Greek Ironclads prevent it from leaving the harbor of Antioch.

IBT:
-Greece says to get the hell out of his territory. Well, maybe we wouldn’t be there if you didn’t plant cities where our troops are! But fine, we’ll leave.
-I want to tell him the same thing, especially after he sends a bunch of Infantry and a worker into our territory and continues to blockade Antioch, but know we can’t win.
-Germany asks for peace. I say sure- for your world map and entire treasury of 18 gold. They accept.
-Susa: Destroyer->Destroyer
-Arbela: Destroyer->Destroyer

Turn 4 (1745 AD):
-Whilst spam-clicking “Clear Pollution”, I accidentally make an Infantry pillage a railroad. :mad:

IBT:
-Greece gives me the “remove or declare” thing again. Hypocrite.
-Oh well, at least the destroyer can leave Antioch now.

Turn 5 (1750 AD):
-Sink a Mongolian Ironclad. (4-1)

IBT:
-Egypt and Aztecs have signed an MPP. Great, just great.
-Greece tells us to leave, but he seems to be unable to give the “remove or declare” option, so I can finally get some of my trapped troops out of the no-man’s-land between Apollonia and Syracuse.

Turn 6 (1752 AD):
-Sink another Mongolian Ironclad. (5-1)

IBT:
-The Aztecs want peace for 120 gold. Sorry, no.
-Mongolian ironclads return, and they brought a destroyer with them.
-Susa: Destroyer->Destroyer

Turn 7 (1754 AD):
-Bombard the crap out of Mongol ships, sink an Ironclad and a Galley. (7-1)

IBT:
-Ship movements…
-Arbela: Destroyer->Destroyer

Turn 8 (1756 AD):
-Bombard, sink Ironclad and Galley. (9-1)

IBT:
-Egypt lands a settler at a place I thought I had kept anything from landing there. :cringe:
-Greece says remove or declare, I remove.
-Antioch: Wall Street (w00t, 50 more gpt)->Destroyer

Turn 9 (1758 AD):
-Sink a Mongol Ironclad and Destroyer. (11-1)
-Switch Persepolis to Destroyer and Pasargadae to Infantry, as they are no longer needed on Wealth to keep our gpt in positive numbers.

IBT:
-Egypt hath built a city on our continent. It will burn in 13 turns.
-More Mongol Ironclads show up.
-Greece says go away. Fine, I’m just trying to get my troops home.
-We finish research on Mass Production, I set it to Motorized Transportation, due in 10. Soon, Greece shall tremble before the might of our Tanks.
-Susa: Destroyer->Battleship

Turn 10 (1760 AD):
-Sink 2 Ironclads and a Transport (14-1)

Pic:
Spoiler :
hawk031760adrs9.jpg

As you can see, not much has changed, with the exception of Egypt and Greece encroaching.

Notes:
-Keep our gold above 1000 so we can get the full effect of Wall Street.
-Keep building Battleships and Destroyers and sink Mongolia's ships. They mostly come from the east.
-Next turn, Pasargadae will grow and have enough spt for a one-turn Infantry, so keep it building them.
-Most Importantly, keep any new cities from being built!

killerkid can go.

Turn 4 (1745 AD):
-Whilst spam-clicking “Clear Pollution”, I accidentally make an Infantry pillage a railroad.

I suggest using the keyboard shortcuts. It typically evades such blunders. {shortcut to clear pollution is shift+control+p, I believe}

OK-I'll play tomorrow.

I guess I'll just keep the Mongols in check, and start some pre-builds for tanks when we get within a couple turns of Motorized Transportation.

I've run into a bit of a problem. I'm on turn 4, and after a check of F1, I see that all our cities will riot next turn. I check if its war weariness, but it just says it's too crowded.

Should I risk making peace?? If it's not WW, then I lose the War Happiness, and we're in a worse situation than we are in now!

Thoughts?

Click on all 5 cities, see what they say is bothering them.

If it's "Stop the War", blah blah, make peace.

If it's 100% "Too crowded", don't make peace.
