Horn of Africa Spear Dudes (26 September 2006)

I like the victory and the death of that pike-dude :) - great work from the dude from the future (our date was September 25th when you released them ... or do you live somewhere in the pacific?)

Well, as the unit creator you'd see more faults than the rest of us, cuz we're slarving rabid unit consumers and these puppies look sweet cans! (Apparently I can't talk cool dude even when I sort of try.) :crazyeye:

Great.

And unit packs are great.

Listen to Steph...listen to Steph... ;)

I need an Indian Warrior, Swordsman, Spearman, Archer, ME Infantry (actually, no, CamJH did pretty good, no? :)), Pikeman, Horseman. A Longbowman would be usefull too. :) All nice and packed :)

7 units, that isn`t that much to ask now is it? (all those have been requested since like.. forever by lots of people!)

Other units? Well, right now I want to make just the ones I need for my African scenario. So I don't want to make any of those mentioned, I'm afraid. It's just possible that some of those I've got lined up might be useable as Indian units too, but I'm afraid I'm not going to be making any custom Indian ones. Or, come to that, any mounted units!

I wouldn't rule out anything altogether, especially if I see interesting concept art, but at least not right now.

The pikeman is definitely my favorite, but all of these are great contributions. Looks like you figured out how to handle the two-handed weapon animations very well. Between that and the fluid cape movements you had on your earlier Christian unit pack, it doesn't look like there's anything you can't handle with Poser. Great job Plotinus!

Just so you know, there is some white on the abyssinian's head that looks like a feather. Is that intentional,or does my browser suck? :(

I wish I had an elephant hide shield. Thats.. Awesome. All these guys are awesome.

Although mrtn's cleaned-up pedia icons were better than the originals, I've made completely new ones for these units now. The links are on the download page. In fact I've realised what I was doing wrong with pedia icons in general, so I've made new ones for quite a few of my units. I'm not bumping any of the other threads, though - I've just edited the opening posts where necessary.

Great units, just what I need for the Ethiopian civilization in my mod.

BTW, does anyone have more info about (ancient/precolonial) Ethiopia, my resources are lacking more details about that period(s)?
