How is your EU3 Game going?

I'm having a strange France game (4th July 1776 start) where the dominant colonial powers in Africa are me, Portugal, Venice, Prussia, Naples and Morocco, and the Papal States also control a province there. I also control some places in Indonesia (including part of Sumatra and most of Borneo), as well as a bit of Yemen.

I think I'm doing OK as England. If I form Great britain do I gain cores on all provinces that England already has cores on or only one GB historical territory?

This be me whole Empire.

IIRC forming Britain gives you cores on all provinces in the British Isles

No, since that has nothing to do with Britain.

Been a while since I did any unions, but IIRC, they give you cores on all the relavent provinces (in this case the British Isles) and any other provinces you already have cored.

Or, to put it another way, you keep all the cores you have, and gain any of the "homeland" ones you don't have.

Here is my Muscovy to Russia game in For the Glory(sorry if this feels like threadjacking to anyone, but I dont think anyone else plays this and the game mechanics are by and large the same as EU 3 and most people would probably recognize the map details)

Apologies aside, here is my first attempt, which I aborted due to a way to nasty Austria at my doorstep which is allied to the nasty Poland. Afew years after this screenie Austria annexed Hungary:sad:

This is my second attempt, due to how much this game is built around events(unlike EU3) I learned from my earlier game and went for the Tartars faster than before. You can't hire generals or conquistadors as they appear by scripted events and in order for me to get colonizing in the east I had to get hold of Kazan quickly.

My borders in the Caucasus are not pretty at the moment, but I am a little weary of going up against the Ottomans and Timurids right now as they are allied to The Golden Horde and Crimea. And my only ally is Georgia which they steamroll and thus can get a land connection to me.

Also I have just gotten out of my first war with Lithuania and took three provinces, again I'm the Pariah of the world since they had finally lost their alliance with Poland and the Teutonic order and thus was alone for me to jump.

So now it is time for BB to go down again and wait for some cores on my land(they also only come through events at certain dates which is in about 15 years time) yeah I make extensive use of the EU2 wiki, since I have no idea when/how things happen in this game.

And a little picture of Europe, the balance of power is much better in this game: France, Spain and Austria are the big three, but england still have some fighting ability, despite being kicked out of europe and France annexing Scotland. Venice, Poland and Hungary are second tier powers, but the string of alliances they have makes them dangerous.

The Ottomans have been hemmed in by the Hungary-poland alliance and their own alliance to the east with AK Koynly(?) and the mameluks.

I have become more familiar with the differences but still learn new stuff, but what I wish for the most is advisors(I need diplomats damit) and how cores are handled, which is very clunky.

So my war goals so far are: getting the caucasus cleaned up, bitting a few more chunks out of Lithuania(preferably orthodox and russian culture provinces first and maybe establish a landbridge to the rest of the Teutonic Orders lands) and expand my colonies in the east. Level one fortresses are a must, since if/when rebels spring up over there they will just walk all over the place and it takes time to get an army over there and the attrition during winter destroys my armies in a matter of years so I can't really have a permanent army over there.

Sorry for any inconvinience and being totally off-topic, but I wanted to share this, since I'm a bit proud of my game so far.

EDIT: Damn I'm stupid I didnt consider the screenshot thread one second until after I had posted this, thats what happens when you get bored with random pictures of Team Fortress 2 really fast and end up mentally blocking certain threads.

More on my Russia game. I've reached the Pacific with my colonization. I've also been absorbing my vassals. Crimea, Jalayirids, Razaman, Karaman, and Candar were annexed through force, while Trebizond and Zaporozhie were diploannexed. An Orthodox Ottomans was released, and as more land in Asia Minor was converted, was given over to them. Those two provinces I have along the Aegean coast are still refusing to convert, so I haven't handed them over yet.

The Russian Crusade has been quite successful.

GB owns Stockholm? and Iberia has been balcanized

You need to make Persia and Baluchistan you vassals, russian hegemony depends on the enslavement of all brown people:p

Also. Manchu looks like it needs some orderly russian control.

It has also come to my attention that you cannot have a Russia without having high infamy, it seems those two go hand in hand(infamy is the value at the crown icon right?).

ahh yes I remember now, but I actually meant the crown to the right of the flag, but that is prestige right?

damn its been too long since I played that game

Prestige is the crown on the left; legitimacy is the coronet on the right.

My current Castille->Spain game. I rescued Morea from the Turks and now she is my vassal. I also control the vast majority of the coastline of South America and some pieces of the Caribbean and North America.

And my most played nation, Switzerland, remained neutral for the remainder of Austrian-Milanese war. :p

Korea in Pakistan!?
