I just don't like mitt Romney

You've got the wrong impression, Quackers. Obama didn't intend any slight towards the British.

How the hell do you know?
Anyway it's symbolic of the real athentic decisions he's made which has hurt the Greatest of Britains.

And I thought the West Wing episode where the President couldn't keep a 17th century map of the Holy Land in his office because it doesn't recognize Israel was ridiculous.

You said the key phrase yourself. The President chooses what he wants in his office. Most interior decorating available to the Oval Office is probably a gift of some kind, by some nation.

..and he chose to not keep it.

Will you please, please summarize these for me?

And to be fair: How do you know the bust removal was an intentional slight?

That wording clearly shows what's really going on here. Certain segments of the UK still mourn the loss of the British Empire and world power status. Privileged treatment from the world power that replaced it helped to keep up the illusion that it was still kind of more important than its peers. People are offended because the UK is treated like everyone else.

..and he chose to not keep it.
Yeah, isn't that nice of him?

To me, the weird part is how did that even happen in the first place? Was GWB visiting the Queen and said "That sure is a great bust of Churchill. I sure wish I had something like that for my office, even though there is a similar bust in the White House already"?

Will you please, please summarize these for me?

Ok, I'll start with the biggest slights:

1) His administraition has started using the words "Las Malvinas" instead of the "Falkland Islands". This is a tacit approval of the Argentinean position. After people berated me for this somebody produced this interview:

The US government official reminded that “United States recognises the de facto administration of the UK in the Islands, but does not have a position over the sovereignty pretensions of both countries.”

“The US government supports the cooperation of the UK and Argentina in practical issues and calls for a pacific resolution of this issue,” he added.

So the US doesn't even support our sovereignty over the islands. Thats a disgrace. We fought a war over these Islands and the US doesn't care if it's in Argie hands or ours. Plus they want us to open up negotiations with the Argentines."Greatest allies of all time?" Nope.

2) He sold British nuclear secrets on our Trident system to the freaking Russians. Which implies a lot of things. He is willing to sell out his allies to get what he wants. He is willing to trade our secrets to unfriendly nations! (Cutlass + Forma will tell you this is actually in our interest because they want to see Britain hurt).

3) Completely refocusing American diplomatic relations away from the Anglo-American relationship and spending more time and effort in Asia and to British enemies like France and Germany. We used to be your right-hand man, now we don't know if your laughing at us with France and Germany behind Britain's back. Going all the way to Cairo and praising the Islamic world. It all comes down to Obama placing hardly any value on our relationship and taking us for granted.

There are many, many other insults which aren't massive in the geo-political scale of things. Like Obama gave Brown a 25 box set of Great American films which did not work in the Number 10 Downing Street DVD player whilst Brown gave Obama a pen crafted from the wood of a old 19th century ship which was meant to catch slave ships. I don't think you would be interested in that so I won't mention any others.

..at the end of the day Britain can get Prezzy.

Hadn't hear about the Falklands thing. Source?

Also, we gave the Trident system to the UK, and we also use it. So it was our 'secret' to give up, and 'hurt' us as much as you.

So Obama wants to keep the lines of communication with Argentina open by referring to the Islands as the Falkland Islands/Islas Malvinas. If that is the 'biggest slight' then you really don't have much of an argument.

So the US doesn't even support our sovereignty over the islands. Thats a disgrace. We fought a war over these Islands and the US doesn't care if it's in Argie hands or ours. Plus they want us to open up negotiations with the Argentines."Greatest allies of all time?" Nope.
So Obama trying to stay out of the issue and stalling for time is 'not supporting your sovereignty'? Besides, why should we care who owns some worthless bits of rock in the South Atlantic?

.
Face it Quackers, the United Kingdom is a second rate power. It should come as no surprise that Obama would refocus diplomatic efforts to more important countries (such as Germany) or areas where we need to build up our influence (such as in Asia). We are already closely tied to the UK through the G-X groups, NATO, and common heritage.

Going all the way to Cairo and praising the Islamic world. It all comes down to Obama placing hardly any value on our relationship and taking us for granted.
Okay, if the UK were to break off all diplomatic ties with America, what would happen? In practical terms, very little. It is in Britain's best intrest to maintain the special relation, not America's. Frankly, if you guys get this pissy when we don't act like you are the 51st state I seriously question the necessity of maintaining the special relation.

It isn't our fault you guys aren't civilized yet. Plus, it seems absurd that Cameron couldn't easily get ahold of of a DVD player that can use a different encoding. I mean, the average American house has a DVD player and a Blu-Ray player; why can't the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland have a DVD player that isn't region-restricted?

So Brown is a suck-up. Point?

Find your own source you lazy git

Aight, well if thats how you feel thanks then.

I think you read the Telegraph too much Quackers. Most of those are either invented or blown way-out of proportion. I thought the UK was now allied with France and Germany.

Meh, as expected. I give reasonable criticisms and get dismissal. You just don't want to believe the truth - you would rather think Obama is fair and ethical.

No. You got facts backed up with links to document their validity and you just refuse to accept them. Your political bias is blinding you to the truth.

I bet you that GB will eventually lose Scotland in the matter of few years. Oh, it's so close to being true.

If I remember correctly public support is still in favor of union.

From a BBC article:

Polling expert John Curtice says support for independence is somewhere between 32 and 38% - down from where it was at the start of the SNP's last term in office as a minority government.

A YouGov poll conducted in April 2011 put support lower than that - at 28% - with 57% opposed.

But research suggests that the section of Scottish society vehemently opposed to independence - and who therefore refuse to vote for the SNP under any circumstances - has shrunk considerably in recent years - something which was a key factor in Alex Salmond's 2011 election victory.

That doesn't, however, mean that those people are now pro-independence, so how they would vote in a referendum remains to be seen.

we won't see the true picture untill the votes are counted ofc ;)

Is there any chance for any organizations to bully, harass and kick out non-Scottish citizens out of Scotland?

Just kiddin. :)

I guess maybe we have to wait a few more years...

Problem is there are loads and loads of Scots living in England too :P Lets just have a nice peaceful break-up shall we? We keep the nukes, you can keep your...ermm...Iron Bru ;) Deal? :D
