I just don't like mitt Romney

Believe it or not, peoples' opinions are usually more nuanced than "something bad happens, blame the sitting president".

Thats not very nice, i didn't do anything to deserve that :(

Obamster hates the whole West,
He doesn't give his hate a rest!
To propagate his hateful views,
Obamster smashed the Churchill bust!

I defy you to find anyone outside of an already foaming at the mouth Michael Savage listener to hate on Obama for Churchill's bust.

They'd hate on him for eating a waffle. They just hate, that's all.

Give the bust a rest already. Only you care about it. Only you.

I don't particularly care for Mitt Romney, but I also don't hate him remotely, let alone with the frothing mad fervor that people who can't seem to cobble together one single solitary true and factual statement about Obama do.

I think he's an empty suit with no values. He used to be downright progressive by comparison. His current conservative stance is painfully obviously a charade. He doesn't believe a word he says.

Other than his (currently) stated policy positions, the most unlikable thing about him is that he is running for President to be President. Not because he has an actual mission based on an actual set of moral values. His values are the polar opposite of what they were when he was a Governor, on a lot of positions you don't flip-flop easily on.

And those policy position changes came about when he wanted to run for President. Too convenient, not a personal epiphany.

There are no specifics in his plan for America. He's also got less charisma than a cup of runny cottage cheese.

Here is all you need to know. The whole bust story was a fabrication.

Bad Quackers! Bad!

(Thanks Cutlass)

Cutlass is willfully lying. He is a liar of the highest order. Nothing can hurt his precious Obama.

The British embassy gave Obama an opportunity to renew the Churchill bust ownership. He refused, the idea of this:

art lent specifically for President Bush’s Oval Office was removed by the curator’s office, as is common practice at the end of every presidency

Is a fantasy. The President chooses what he wants in his office when he is inagurated. He was given the choice of keeping the bust and he refused. Hence he threw it out.

No what in that paragraph refutes anything I said? Obama removed the Churchill bust from the oval office -fact. The paragraph proves it. I've got nothing to say about the second bust in a different part of the white house. I'm talking about the one in the oval office, always have been.

Churchill was a violent racist and hateful imperialist so I don't see what the problem is.

You've got the wrong impression, Quackers. Obama didn't intend any slight towards the British.

Mitt Romney has vowed to return a bust of Winston Churchill to the White House if elected president.

The only problem: it's already there.

Responding to Romney's claim that the bust has been removed from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. -- perpetuated in conservative Charles Krauthammer's Friday column in the Washington Post -- White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer on Friday called the rumor "so patently false" that he had to respond.

Though President Obama did move the bust out of the Oval Office -- and replaced it with a bust of President Abraham Lincoln -- it's still in the White House, just moved to the residence, outside the Treaty Room. "News outlets have debunked this claim time and again," Pfeiffer wrote in an unusual fact-check blog post on the White House website.

In case those reports haven't satisfied critics, Pfeiffer also offers up a 2010 photo of the president and British Prime Minister David Cameron looking at the bust along with his post.

"Hopefully this clears things up a bit and prevents folks from making this ridiculous claim again," Pfeiffer said.

At a fundraiser Thursday in London, Romney said he is "looking forward to the bust of Winston Churchill being in the Oval Office again," where it was during George W. Bush's presidency.

UPDATE: Pfeiffer's "fact check" isn't quite right. While there is still a bust of Churchill in the White House, it's not the same one that was in the Oval when Bush was president. The bust by Sir Jacob Epstein (no relation to this reporter) was lent to Bush's administration for the duration of his presidency, the British Embassy in Washington told Mediaite. When Bush left office, the loan ended and the bust was placed in the embassy. The White House collection includes its own Churchill bust by Epstein, which is the one that's now in the residence.

And I thought the West Wing episode where the President couldn't keep a 17th century map of the Holy Land in his office because it doesn't recognize Israel was ridiculous.

You said the key phrase yourself. The President chooses what he wants in his office. Most interior decorating available to the Oval Office is probably a gift of some kind, by some nation.
