If it was illegal to seperate and divorce your spouse, would you ever get married?

Because it was a lot harder to get sex outside of marriage way back then. Now it's comparatively much easier and cheaper.

When I get married I don't exactly plan on leaving, I marry for eternity...so what difference would it make? I'd rather be married and run the risk of having an unhappy one than never being married.

Besides, that risk can be shrunk considerably if one simply makes a good judgement in choosing a spouse. Not a cure-all-end-all, but it certainly helps.

EDIT: That said, I naturally don't mean that divorce is evil. Sometimes it is necessary. *Sometimes*
