I've been trying to crop a picture of a bird I found on Wikipedia down, but I can't seem to get full 100x100 size because the file is always too large. What picture format do you guys use when you convert it to 100x100 to keep it under 6 kB?

JPEGs are usually fine because you don't have to worry about a file compression type being lossy if you're not editing it again.

I was using Photoshop, and I still can't get it down to 100x100 under 6 kB. This picture is usually around 20 kB, or 10 kB at the lowest quality (which is fine for an avatar pic, but still not good enough).

I'd like the entire bird, but I finally got a pic working and stuck with it. It's a pretty cool bird, nice and fuzzy.

Life was really difficult a year ago or so, in more ways than one. I ended up going on a few month hiatus.

I thought it was time for an avatar change--other guys are switching every year, and I've been using Washington since 2006!

EDIT: I wasn't going to change my custom user title, but Dachs' name for the file was so funny I had to change it.
