It's the land of rainbows and sugarcubes. Everybody has a true talent.

And some people in the land of rainbows and sugarcubes advertise that talent with a tramp-stamp.

Ok I'll stop.

It's the friggin cutie mark. All ponies have theirs, and they're a symbol of their abilities, of their true selves. Younger ponies are blankflanks (they lack a cutie mark) until they discover this true talent of theirs, and then it magically appears on their FLANK.

Here's Rainbow Dash's talent, or rather signature move, the Sonic Rainboom.

Link to video.
*gulp*

And... and... you actually like watching this stuff?

And not in any ironic super-post-modern way? (Which I wouldn't understand either, btw.)

Still, each to their own.

This is a decontextualised video of 2 minutes out of a 22-minutes episode in a season with 26 seasons. This is like judging A Clockwork Orange only by watching the violation scene, or something like that.

Uh no it isn't.

This is a children's television show (for little girls) and A Clockwork Orange is not for little girls, or really children in general.

They do, and I don't understand either.

Oh my God, you son't say. And here I thought every single Kubrick film was recommended for children ages 3-5. :sarcasm:

You do realise the complete difference between ACO and a MLP? Not only in terms of content, but in target audience, and even format?

Suggesting that I don't is to insult my intelligence.

Yes. I get the idea.

But I've seen bits of other videos, and, honestly, it's not for me.

I do appreciate the taste for this kind of thing, though. When I was a dock worker, there used to be TV's in the mess huts and at one stage all these hairy dockers used to settle down to watch episodes of the telly tubbies. Whose target demographic is/was pre-schoolers, or more specifically, toddlers.

It's a saccharin sweet bit of programming with more intelligence in the writing than the bulk of children's programming. Sure, it's usually considered a bit dippy for grownass men to sit down and watch rainbows vomit forth from animated ponies of indeterminate age and the existence of the rule 34 crowd doesn't do this any favors - but still, answer me honestly: Is the fact that men of a variety of ages can enjoy a show whose basic premises are peace, love, and friendship when awash in the sea of programmed violence and homicide that generally targets them actually a bad thing? I don't think we need to be watching Wallander all the time to be men's men.

Its good for my brothers tattoo biz...encouraging the kids to get inked up...lol

Going back to cool looking pictures of female cosmonauts.

No, nononononononono NO! I'm not doing that voluntarily again in my life short of a guarantee of marriage from Samantha Fox or Kathy Ireland or Condi or a few select others.

But but
Good Kirk = No Beard
Evil Kirk = Beard
Good VR = Bead
Evil VR = Beard????

/totallyconfuse

Actually, Spock was the bearded one. Kirk got a dagger and different shirt. Oh, and a lady friend.
