Put on hold after I realized that I couldn't actually play DVDs on my laptop, possibly due to the same hardware fault that precipitated the destruction of the fan.

Since I don't actually have to use the DVD drive, like, at all, for anything else, I'm ignoring the problem in favor of working on other things (because I can't use my laptop if it's in for repairs, obviously), thus depriving you of your last excuse for doing the goddamn work yourself, you lazy ass.
