Instant e-mail notifications have stopped being sent

I didn't get an activation e-mail when I signed up for the forum. I had to go into the chat room and someone there had to get an admin to activate me by hand.
 
Nope were on Valve time in waiting for a fix.
 
I have instant email notices set for a large amount of the threads I post in in the Civ 2 section. I have not gotten an email in a long time either.
 
Gallery updates are still not coming.
 
If Gmail is the problem or they are blacklisting CFC - then which email providers are allowing email from CFC? I do not mind setting up a different email account to get my messages again.

IIRC it's not the email providers which have blacklisted us, it is ISPs and 3rd-party companies who added us to spammer lists. This was due to an issue early in the year when hackers exploited a vBulletin vulnerability to use CFC to send spam out.

Who is in charge of such a list? Somebody has to be responsible as an incorrect block is a serious legal issue. Imagine if something like gmail.com ends up in the list. We would quickly see a lawsuit unless it is corrected right away. Why should CFC accept being on such a list even though it isn't a billion dollar company? Accepting is kind of like closing a company because we people don't want a company with scary people and there were a burglar, who turned out to be scary. That makes no sense at all.
 
I think it is understandable to stop instant email notifications, but only if you inform on that by an instant email notification/ no reason to be more meta*

*'meta' (sic) is such a dumb use of the term in this way..
 
I currently have the box at the bottom of posting a thread set as "instant email notification", but for some reason I never receive emails when people respond. Can anyone help me with this?

This has been broken for ages for me. Is this ever coming back?
 
All I can tell you is what I know and that is that our Administrators are working with our host to isolate and try to solve the problem. How long that might take is an open question.
 
It's been SIX MONTHS. Not even Freecycle glitches when Shaw thinks we're spam take this long to resolve.
 
I have noticed that when on my android mobile, I am redirected to a blank, white page when tapping on a Google search result on Google that would otherwise take me to a forum thread page here on CFC's forums, and a "Keep In Touch With Tapatalk!" title in the address bar. Might that be contributing to the issue at all?
