And before people ask, no I will not restart SpoM for the time being. I am having thoughts in other directions. SpoM was cumbersome to update and was infuriating as less than a third of people would send in sufficiently detailed orders by the deadline.
That said though, I loved the discussion and buzz around the time when I ran the brief event on the SS Atlas. It put real time pressure on people and backstabbing and stuff. It almost made it all worthwhile.
To this end I think it would be more interesting to set my sights on something more basic - perhaps this is just me becoming nostalgic in my old age but the next IOT that I GM will be set up with old school rules on the classic map. With the aim of not being mechanically interesting but the game itself happening between the players rather than the numbers.
