In the year 1831 the council of the Metis met at the Red River settlement. The council met and each representative stated the general worry of each of their areas. The majority were worried about European Colonial Expansion. In order to stop it dead in it's tracks, the Metis approached many many Native chiefs. They agreed to an alliance and the Native American Alliance was formed. Next, the Metis planned on adding the West Coast Indians and the Dakota to the alliance.

THE TRIUMPHIRATE OF AUSTRALIA

CAPITAL: Sydney, AUSTRALIA

DESCRIPTION/HISTORY: The triumphirate is a council of three members that are elected for 8 year terms that rule the Australian empire. The economy is capitalist but has many many socialist aspects to it so it more of a hybrid between capitalism and socialism. The reason there is a triumphirate is that for 100's of years dicators had ruled australia under an iron fist, until about a hundred years ago when the dictator was thrown out and military rule ensued. The military leader soon stepped down and created the triupmhirate. Australia is an economic powerhouse and while it does have a large defensive military, it's offensive military operations and funding are small. Australia's major sport is soccer and wishes to hold a soccer olympics that whole world can attend. Australia is a mix of religions but the two major religions are atheist and Bahai, with others very close.

GOALS: Australia is focused on becoming a technological and economic power. It has a military but is not very focused on it compared to its focus on economics and tech (Going with times, economically we want to be a trading empire). Australia is big on soccer as you can see, so it would like to host a soccer olympics. Australia also wishes to help nations that are fighting to become nations become nations since that is what it had to do about a hundred years ago.

It is true that economic porsperity is jumpstarted by war, but when an economy is jumpstarted by peace, then it shall stand the test of time.

Stability can be lowered by events and spies. Declaring war without support from your people can also lower your stability. If your stability rating is lower than “strong”, you can invest income in raising your stability. The more you invest in stability (as a percentage of your total IC) the higher the chance of your stability improving. So, if you have 10 IC total, and you spend 5 IC, there’s a 25% chance your stability will increase. It will take 200% of IC to increase stability by 10%.

It really helps when you don't combine both stability systems instead of just picking one. Or make confusing statements.

History:​

In the early 1700's, the Kingdom of France was at war with Al-Andus. The war ended in a victory for France, and Algiers became a French colony. The Sultanates of Morocco and Tunisia were also established as protectorates of France. Algeria soon became a popular place for immigration, along with the Americas. By the time of the French Revolution, Algeria was over 40% European.

During the French Revolution, the Monarch was overthrown and a French Republic was established. This was lead by the National Assembly and a President. The French Republic fought in the French Revolutionary Wars, which were resounding French victories. France had established control over the Low Countries, and parts of Italy and Germany. However, then President of France Napoleon Bonaparte used the military to oust the National Assembly and establish a dictatorship over France. The National Assembly was exiled to French Algeria, where they established a new colonial government. In 1804, French Algeria declared independence from the French Empire.

Napoleon sent an army to crush the revolt, but the French and Native Militias were able to defeat the under supplied French army with the help of the British and Portuguese. In retaliation for these acts of aggression against the French Empire, Napoleon launched a decade long conflict known as the Napoleonic Wars which ravaged Europe. Eventually, the French Empire was defeated, but still in existence. The gains made in the Revolutionary Wars had been completely wiped out, though, and the French Empire consisted only of France itself.

However, after the end of the Napoleonic Wars, a new revolution shook the French Empire. This time not even Napoleon could defeat it, and he himself was exiled to Quebec. This new France was not a friend to the Republic either, and was cursed with instability and corruption. Eventually, two separate French states were established, united under a Confederation with the capitol at Vichy. However, this is not truly France, but only a puppet to the rest of the world and itself.

The French Algerian Republic did not sit quiet during the Napoleonic wars, though. Many dissidents of Napoleon were also exiled here, and the Republic took advantage of the instability in Europe to invade it's neighbors, Morocco and Tunisia. Now that the FAR has established control over Mahgreb, they look to newer and greener pastures. Current President Pierre Rousseau and the National Assembly lead a nation that has become an established power on the world stage, and the future looks bright for the French Algerian Republic.

The Russian Empire

Russia's Empire is not faring to well after the loss of Livonia, Ukraine, Idel-Ural, Siberia and Kazakhstan, due to independence revolts in those provinces. Poland, Caucasus, Central Asia, Tartary and Yakutsk are even further away and Russia may have to accept that even these territories may be lost forever.

Nicholas I, Emperor of Russia

This has saddened Nicholas I, who has hopes of re-uniting the the provinces to the Russian Motherland. Nicholas I initial goals over the coming years, are to reunite Russia's neighbouring provinces and restore Russia's former Empire. However, he hopes to do this peaceably and is willing to negotiate on territories that are further afield.

He has employed the minister of education, Sergey Uvarov, to devise a program of "Orthodoxy, Autocracy and Nationality" as the guiding principle of the regime. He has assembled the best minds in Russia in the Winter Palace, which will henceforth be called The Hermitage. They have been will meet once a month to refine plans and present a report to the Tsar once every 6 months on progress. However, all expenditure will need to come from recommendations in these reports are will require the approval of the Tsar.

Russia looked at the world surrounding her and wondered, how it could become a part of it. It looked west and considered Scandinavia would allow it to be closer to Europe and gain all-year round access for its imports and exports to help it grow in the rest of the world. It see access to the North Sea as strategic to its aims as the port of Murmansk is often frozen solid.

Emperor Nicholas instructed his ambassador to conclude an agreement with the Scandinavians, whereby it would ask them to join Russia and Russia would then commit to developing Scandinavia. Especially its port facilities and may be even help to access its mineral resources of Iron, etc. in later years. It is hoped that Scandinavia will accept this offer as it will be mutually beneficial to both nations.

With the start of the industrialism, it meant a nation needed to invest in a strong factory infrastructure. It decided the best way, would be to make cheap loans to young entrepreneurs and let them decide what the best factories to make were, thereby letting the free-market take a hold. Many serfs from the lost provinces have come to Russia as refugees and having the opportunity for work will help ease tensions and make Russia more productive.

Frankfurter Nationalversammlung​

In 1821 the Frankfurter Nationalversammlung (Frankfurt parliament) was assembled with the goal of debating over the future of Germany. The main issue was what was German land. The Großdeutsche Lösung ("Greater German solution") favored unifying all German-speaking peoples under one state, including the Germanic nations of central europe, the former Hapsburg monarchy and the Benelux. The Kleindeutsche Lösung ("Lesser German solution") sought only to maintain the northern German states and did not include Austria; this proposal was favored by the supporters of the isolationist policy. The solutions are also referred to by the names of the states they proposed to create, Kleindeutschland and Großdeutschland ("Lesser Germany" and "Greater Germany"). Both movements were part of a growing German nationalism. Even though Fuhrer Nedim I von Bosnia was in favor of the Großdeutschland many didn't want to expand into Kleinduetschland. On the 5th of November 1821 the parliament had voted and decided to choose the Großdeutschland plan, celebrations erupted and the great emporer ordered the Austrians to be unified with their German brothers. He was also crowned Emporer of Austria, Hungary King of Croatia, Slovakia and Bohemia.

AUSTRALIAN EXPANSION​

After a few months of debating, the Zealand Expansion Act was passed. With 4 million dollars, the goverment was funding settlers to expand into New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands. A few days later, a government representative gave a speech and it was also made into a telegram:

This bill has passed for a few reasons. First off, when we ousted the dictators of our country about a 100 years ago, they retreated to New Zealnd and the South Pacific Island where they destroyed everything and left it ruthlessly ravaged in hopes that the rebellion would soon die after they had destroyed two thirds of its peoples and land. Obviously we did not die and now we are expanding so that we can rebuild these ravaged lands and prove those evil dictators wrong, while also reuniting the remains of our people that are located there. We also wish to fuel our economy with new people and resources. Reporets form the settlers there should come back soon, and hopefully these lands will be reunited under our banner. May Australia live forever and a day!

Late in the game, I don't really remember because I was already at 100%, but it had something to do with % put in = % chance you raise stab
I can't tell which one you're trying to do. It seems like you're doing both and then another way.

I am doing the % chance. Some people are investing IC this turn on stability, their 2IC investment is giving them a 25% chance for a stability level increase this turn. If they invest a total of 200% of their IC over multiple turns, then they will be at 100% - a guaranteed increase in stability that turn.

The big change from later in IB1 is that instead of 100% of IC guaranteeing an increase, it is now 200%.

Spain then sent 5,000 troops and invaded Mexico. They captured most of what they had lost but then faced a guerrilla war they were not prepared for. By 1800 the Spanish forces had left for good. A democracy was the established. However, it did not last long, in 1807 General Porfirio Sanchez, (who changed his name to Porfirio Montezuma) overthrew the government with popular support, he greatly increased both the military and industrial might of his country. He rules with an Iron fist and no one may challenge his rule. However many have benefited from his rule, the standard of living went up and freedom of Religion has been guaranteed. Montezuma himself has created a new religion based on the old polytheistic faith of the Aztec people. This cult is practiced by 21% of the population.
