When you play online, in a shooter like Counter-Strike, do you think it's just to almost TK players who act up or have names or say stuff you find ********?

Like yesterday there was this german online with the name "Wehrmachtsoldat88" I constantly shot him to the point he only has 10 hp so he gets wasted instantly and I don't get punished for it.

So now I ask you, if you see a player that annoys you are you more prone to doing "wrong" things, just to smite them?

I usually play call of duty, on servers with friendly fire disabled. But I've been tempted to TK some annoying players. It's the admins' duty to kick them though.

I tend to just block them then steal their kill. Actually I do this regardless of whether they're annoying or not.

CS is not a team game :p

I was playing Halo with a ****** last night who kept stealing our kills. He kept insulting us and i just muted him but i did huge urge to TK him, but i won't team kill unless they really deserve it becuase that makes you a team killing f***tard. I think the last time i did it was in Call Of Duty 3 with a guy named floggy molly or something like that.

I find that most people who play halo and counter strike are either very angry or are twelve years old and think they're the greatest thing in town, so already there's a lot of animosity between players.

If someone is really ruining the game, or is completley offending everyone, I guess teamkilling them isn't the worst thing you could ever do. If you do it enough times they'd leave, wouldn't they? Or you could vote to kick/ban them, but those don't always go through.

Or you could quit and find a new server, but for a lot of people that makes them feel like the other guy has won.

And what's wrong with his name? Did he start spamming "Heil Hitler" or TKing everyone?

IMO, you were pretty overzealous.

Yeah, I guess it is justified...just don't totally TK them, simply take them down so that they can be shot and killed easily.

For example, I play Maplestory, one of those Korean MMORPGs...you can't kill people directly, but one can summon monsters with which to kill others; those people are usually mass defamed, then reported, then banned. It makes me laugh.

Apparently the "88" is supposed to stand for Adolf Hitler. Though it is also the number of Chiefs player and all around kick ass tight end Tony Gonzales. It was also the number for Willie...er...Willie...crap, a wide receiver from the 90s for the Chiefs.

It hints at glorification of the 3rd Reich under Hitler. Wehrmacht was the name of the german army then (I guess you know that, and of course not every Wehrmachtsoldat was Nazi) and soldat = soldier. What's nearly evidence of a questionable attitude, being a nazi or at least dumb provocation, is '88' at the end. Since being a Nazi openly in Germany sooner or later gets you in conflict with law, german Neonazis use a bit of carmouflage here and there. 'Heil Hitler' is abreviated 'HH'. Now count the alphabet to the letter 'H'.

OR, it could be the year he was born. Or any number of things.

My name may be MobBoss, but my name has nothing to do with the Mafia.

Capeesh?

I'm not spiteful enough to teamkill Nazi's or misc distasteful people in game. I'm there to play the game, not campaign for human rights.

People with names that are linked to the third reich and who had the numbers "88" or "14" in them, or "HH" are almost 100% Nazis.

I'm on the fence here.
It's true that the name and the 88 reference pushes the balance towards the guy being a nazi, but on the other hand, Wehrmacht != nazis, and being born in 88 is not totally unlikely.

And when in doubt, I think it's best to abstain.

Given that he has "Wehrmacht" and "Soldat" in his name, it seems pretty clear "88" probably refers to the famous 8.8cm anti-tank/anti-aircraft gun.

As a Neo-Nazi symbol

Eighty-eight is used as code among Neo-Nazis to identify each other. H is the 8th letter of the alphabet, so 88 is taken to stand for HH which in turn means Heil Hitler. For example, the number is used in the song "88 rock`n`roll band" by the neo-Nazi group Landser.14 is used similarly, referring to the so-called "Fourteen Words", often found in combination with 88 (1488, 14/88, etc.). This form of the number has inspired the naming of the groups Column 88, Unit 88 and White Legion 88.

Well the guy is probably a nazi or at least a immature kid. Still doesnt make it right to tk him. TKing bastards are one of the most annoying creatures on the tubular interweb.
