ITNES I - An Epoch of Change

From Wenedia
To Huancac

We would like to discuss the purchase of a narrow strip of coastline to unite our two colonies. Also, we wish to also possibly draw up some sort of agreement so our expansion does not cause tension or conflict.

Nice Update das!
OOC What color is your nation?

Welcome Neighbor! We propose the following borders (yellow line):

We do not wish to cede our territory over to you. Our goal was to purchase a thin coastal area connecting our two colonies then create a boundary along the lines for further expansion.

To: Wenedia
From: Huancac

How important is it that your coastal enclaves on our continent be connected by land when you have such efficient ships?

That is of our buisiness. We are offering one EP for the land. If you do not wish for the land transaction we will just leave it at that. The land boundary you drew a line for, however, is agreeable.

Do also wish to sign some commerce and trade agreements to foster economic prosperity between our peoples?

The land boundary was only offered as an offset to your giving up that small piece of land on the ocean and to make sure that the deal was a fair one for you. Our eastward expansion will continue, but we will trade you a small connecting strip for 1 EP and permit your traders in our ports for the same priviliges in yours.

We need to make a boundary of expansion for both sides. You expected us to give up land for free in exchange for your word you would not expand eastward and we are still not allowed westward? That is hardly a fair agreement. We do not mind if the boundary is slightly adjusted given the small peice of land.

The trade agreement we shall agree to.

Oh shut up, I checked my nation description
Which is not the whole story, especially as 2 turns passed since they were last updated

and apparently I only joined in the war to gain the lands the Daco-Illyrians are offering. :p
That's not what das agreed to when he asked me to join in the war.

Sooo...what exactly are you accusing me of? I play for my nation, not for any alliance, especially since Cernorusia is not really part of one.
Read the front page. The Onoghurian alliance part. And if you want, go back to the update where YOU (well to be fair das) proposed to me. Do you really think my army was there to join and help you in the attack of DIE for fun?

I don't see anything unrealistic about just being in this war to gain what it was started for.
That's because you don't know why you were in the war to begin with, or what even happened in the war for that matter (the spotlight isn't even out yet and you're making peace...?).

that was a much better plan shortguy, I actually thought you would move your whole Hibernian army into Caledonia, thats why I sent most of my fleet round Caledonia hoping they would get lucky and stop the landing if it occured. I knew my army would be overwhelmed if that happened.

We were thinking along the same lines then. I didn't count on all the Americans coming to help, but you can still raise a heck of a defensive land army with 5 EP. Caledonia was friendly territory with safe supplies, and our army would have done a lot of good; additionally, the money that erez spent on land forces (I assume he spent some) would have been essentially wasted. With the lower half of Hibernia razed and your Alban invasion stymied, we would have been in good bargaining position.

It certainly wasn't a foolproof plan, as, if you recaptured naval supremacy, erez could have thrown his forces into the Caledonian invasion, and we'd be in a similarly bad situation. And as you say, you could potentially have stopped our forces' transport from Hibernia. But I think it was definitely the wiser course.

If our word is not good enough for you, why are you talking to us? Perhaps you think all the world lives by your standards and hence negotiate in fear of treachery.

You asked to buy our land; we suggested a land trade with a border agreement that gave us land contiguous to our current holdings and gave you a firm border to colonize to and which we would not go over. We drew the border at our eastern edge and even gave you all the barbarous lands that lay between us.

Your secret reasons for wanting a coastal strip seemed to guide your thinking. We acquiesed and agreed to sell you the original strip you wanted. In the processs we took our generous border offer off the table. You may keep your coastal settlements, but the barbarous Caribs of the interior are ours to rule. You got what you asked for; why are you not happy?

Power outage, military uprising, assasins... poor das. He may be fleeing for his life as he speaks.

Oh wait, he was hit by a car a while ago and is already dead...

The internet must be broken then.

First and foremost, WHAT THE?! Apparently one of my update posts mysteriously disappeared. I guess I was too tired back then; should be more careful when updating next time... I editted the spotlight into the map post now. Terribly sorry about that.

And sorry about not coming online earlier; was somewhat busy.

I REALLY want to know whatever happened to Cernorussians being my loyal allies

Well that has been changing since the IT begun. Cleric got them a) independent and b) in the aggressive mood; after the defeat in Wenedia they begun looking south, considering your lands there their birthright. Plus the Onoghurian diplomacy helped.

Just copy and paste it instead of trying to redraw it.

I am having some problems with copy-pasting images lately (they come out slightly shrunken when I paste them, for some strange reason).

OCC: Absolutely no f***ing way with this technology level - you need explosives and machines and far superior materials technology.

Its not a canal. ;)

Statistical grievances shall be adressed as usual (+1 Nortuguese Economy, +2 Khmer Economy).

Nice update, but i asked for 20 of my ships to be built on the carb sea coast, they arn't on the map.

Consider them there.

I loved the spotlight, thought there were some grammar mistakes and other strange sentences :p

so I assume I have 6EP's to spend from stats, 1/4 in my wonder, and +1 confidence. thanks :)

oh end EDIT
to Ibero-Punics:
Indeed as we promised.

to Solist kingdoms:
Your defeat is near. We suggest you surrender because it will be hard holding our allies from slaughtering you en mess. We won't thought, we promise you that.

Err... lets pretend that was all there on purpose, either to mess with your heads or for the sake of experiment (that said, I'm not sure what exactly you're talking about, at least as far as the grammar is concerned). ;)
