Jan. 6th commission

Just among the Republican congresscritters, you had more than a few interested in an attempt to install Trump. A good portion of the people around the capital were not so hardcore and amazingly, a good portion were not arrested.

Just among the Republican congresscritters
this is a rather special subset, and their corruption is nothing new. of course they were not with shoes on the ground there, nor did they bother to do anything that would jeopardize/implicate them. their interest extends only as far as that. they'd sit quietly by if there really were an effective coup in their favor, but they're not the sort that would lead the charge. they're too cowardly to even do far less politically risky things.

It wasn't. I didn't sleep for about four days because it took that long to be assured of victory.
That was less about the landslide and more about the function of the electoral college, that turns elections that are "landslides" into "close calls" :ack:

And yes... it was a pretty stressful 4 days :scared::run: :gripe: :whew:

I think I slept a total of 10 hours between tuesday nighy and saturday morning. I was pretty sure Biden was going to win from Wednesday on. I then slept like 24 hours that weekend.

After all that, the country had no damned right to be surprised on Jan 6th. Of course that was how the Trump presidency ended, of course it was...

Perhaps ironically, i slept through most of jan 6th. I woke up and saw them already in the capitol on tv (my parents were watching tv).

Most of the people I work with all work from home, so on Jan 6th we were all IM'ing & texting things like "are y'all watching this?!" & "are we supposed to keep working during an insurrection?"

This evidence is plainly exculpatory. Because if somebody says "Stop the Steal!" it's really that person who made the Proud Boys attack the Capitol.

Spoiler Aw Shucks :

I suppose we should just trust 'em.

Filing motions and law suits is to avoid prosecution is pretty common, especially recently among right wingers charged with crimes. Just look at Trump and his cronies. Criminals do what they can to avoid being tried.

But don't you dare ask of TMIT, Bird, that we attend to whether the filing meets with any success--as a way of determining whether it has any merit or not.

(Cuz the judge is in on it too, ya see)

Wait, you're telling me that julie_kelly2 is not the most reliable source for information about legal affairs?

No! That's impossible!

Better than trusting julie_kelly2 or the people who showed up for Jan 6th (or TMIT)

Trust may just be flat inappropriate, eh?

But yeah, the FBI deliberately causing additional crime as its own goal? The police, especially the secret and essentially unaccountable police, would never!
