Kresta I Missile Cruiser WIP Preview

Here is a glimpse at my latest project, the Kresta I class missile cruiser of the former Soviet Navy. Modelling is done and texturing is about 85% done.

Here is a glimpse at my latest project, the Kresta I class missile cruiser of the former Soviet Navy. I just finished modelling it and now have to paint it. After that comes the tedious task of animation. Anyways, here is a screenshot of the newly finished model. Bear in mind, I still have to paint (texture) it. The current colors are just stand in materials I assigned in Max.

Steph is right, I'd like to see some vessels of the Royal Navy, French Navy or Bundesmarine, too. After the Master has finished the Kresta Class, that is.

I won't be doing much for other navies in the near future, for two reasons. The first is that I have a list of ships that I want to make gfx for, to add to El Justo's TCW. Second, I need very detailed pictures, especially of models, to build my ships. Buying reproduction blueprints just costs too much, to use for each and every ship. USN and Soviet Navy have the most pictures floating around, of the real ships and models (palstic, resin, wood, etc). I have nothing against the other navies, the fact is they are not a priority for me at the moment. In the future I would be willing to do naval vessels of the other foreign navies. That is, if by the time I get to them, Civ3 still has a fan base.

Considering Civ 2 is sill around I'm sure Civ 3 will still have fans.

I updated the model preview pic. I also attached a Civ scale pic. I inceased the model by 10% in size.

I have the Default and AttackA animation setup done. I've taken a break from it for a little bit. I picked up a part time job when the wife is home, and when she works I have two kids to watch. I know, I know, excuses, excuses. I will get this finished in this month. Sometimes I just need some inspiration. So on my free time I have been playing TCW, which makes me want this done since the Kresta I ingame is using the awful Firaxis cruiser model as a placeholder. Hang in there, the Red Fleet will get this new addition.

Agreed, I'm looking forward to this one, RL issues always has priority over Civ, anything else would be strange so excuses they may be but they are good excuses, keep up the good work
