Legalising ******** terrorism

It's not nearly as harsh as you describe here in Czech rep., but we could use less feminism in our law too.

I am sick of this "women need to be protected" attitude. It's unfair, stupid and dangerous.

For example, when a marriage is divorced in Czech rep., kids are almost always left with the mother. There are tons of cases of mother who were alcoholics, who lived in much worse conditions than their ex-husbands, but they were given the kids instead of them. There are another dozens of cases of mothers who were abusing the alimony or obstructing the father from seeing his kids (in defiance of the court's decision).

Courts can, even under the current legislation, easily set things right, but they won't. You know why?

80% of judges on the lowest level (the courts which decide in these cases) are women.

...

If you want justice, you have to go to Strasbourg (European Court of Human Rights has a seat there). After 15 years of pleading, you may even be allowed to see your kids - who will probably not even recognize you at best, or hate you because they've been told stories about how evil bastard you are and how you left their mother for their whole childhood.

Wonderful. Now tell me again how are women discriminated against. It's a load of crap.

This is why I don't get involved with Indian girls. That and the fact their naive. But this gives me added incetive not to get involved in Indian girls. So tis all good.

And yeh I agree this law is discriminatory and I have heard of causes where the woman abuses the law but that tends to be balanced out with with men's abuses which are certainly more prevelant and lethal so I dunno....

In your opinion, the quality of a country's treatment of women is determined by how many women are being burned?

Which hasn't happened in a while might I add. And is illegal.

Two wrongs do not make a right.

YHBT. YHL.

I am for law which is saving victims of home violence, but I think that its not needed only in spouse relationship, for example old people are often terrorised by their relatives(even daughters and sons!). And I think that its better presume guilty in this cases, because they are living in one house. Before some weeks one man killed his wife after she called police and he had to leave. This has to be prevented, but generally I agree with Indian version and I am sure that it would improve chances of victims.(I have not read details)

So what, in a culture that women are still second-class, a law comes out to protect them and it's Naziism?

How many women will try to have their husbands thrown in prison if their husbands aren't completely terrible and deserve prison to begin with?

In most countries in the world, if you punch your wife you can expect a far less severe punishment, and far lower rate of enforcement, under domestic violence legislation than if you punch a complete stranger and get charged for assault. Until something changes on that front I'm not sure anyone has much room to go OMG THEY'RE DESTROYING THE LEGAL SYSTEM. Because it seems pretty broken right now, even here in the Enlightened White People countries.

Also, on child support related ranting: "Studies show that batterers have been able to convince authorities that the victim is unfit or undeserving of sole custody in approximately 70% of challenged cases" and "abusive fathers are far more likely than nonabusive parents to fight for child custody, not pay child support, and kidnap children.

I shudder to think what the treatment of women must have been like to warrent such reactionary legislation to be taken seriously.

we men DO need protection against misandry. I'm fine with feminism when you define it as making opportunities for women more equal, but that time has passed. with the current trend so disturbing, we need to remind ********s exactly why the feminist movement started in the first place, and of their terrible double standard.

Sounds like another good reason to not get married.

Is this, by any chance, an attempt to redress an age-old balance tilted the other way that everyone (male) is quite comfortable with?
So, violating the civil rights of all men is OK if some men have been mean to women for a really long time?

Don't be absurd. Violating civil rights is wrong, period. Two wrongs do not make a right. You cannot overcome bigotry with more bigotry, that will only lead to more hatred and even more problems.

You're practically making this all up, and then you have one statistic to back your claim. A very funny statistic, because I'm sure you haven't been this upset when there roles consisting of 80% men.

I shudder to think what the treatment of women must have been like to warrant such reactionary legislation to be taken seriously.

Exactly! You put it best.

The case of Pooja Chauhan. Basically, she gets married, fails to produce a male heir or generate enough cash for her husband's family and then she gets abused for a few years by husband and inlaws. Cops turn a blind eye to her complaints, so she's had enough and tries to get their attention by walking through the streets in her underwear. This bit was particularly . .. .. .. .ed up:

"When her complaint against her in-laws failed to evoke any response, she tried to immolate herself at the office of the police commissioner last Friday but police personnel stopped her"

Apaprently SELF-IMMOLATION wasn't enough to open the blind eye being turned to her so hence the SHOCKING underwear stunt.

wow, just wow

The best bit is the "Have Your Say" section down the bottom. The "debate" about whether she is "victim" or "culprit". How insane that that's even a debate.

Dinesh from Mumbai goes: "Probably she might have been tortured to an extent; which made her to strip down to semi-nude. But the way she chose to get justice in not acceptable. India is a country which worships women as a Goddess."

Of course none, because women are all angels. They don't lie. They aren't violent. :mischief:

Womans AREN'T better persons.
There are alot of studies out which prove that women do domestic violence on a scale comparable to man. Woman get inbuilt preferential treatment at court. When a woman does domestic violence against a man, there's a high propability HE will get convicted for it.
All you pansy idiots should wake up. You're beiing brainwashed.
