Leoreth Appreciation Thread

I'm a shopaholic. I couldn't fathom only buying one game per year but at the same time, I admire your temperance and self-control.
I would've said lack of time and empty bank account, but sure let's go with that :D

Who doesn't love Korra?

Watch ATLA, then come back (seriously it's worth it).

New episode was lame though. Who knew the dreaded South Pole only took 1 minute and the touch of a finger to fix.

Yeah, I'm fairly critical of the new season so far. The conflict is poorly established, everything feels rushed and badly paced, Korra's "I'm the Avatar so don't tell me what to do" arc seems predictable right now, and worst of all, Bolin and Tenzin have been flanderized even further.

I really hope this is just a consequence of the unexpected continuation of the show and quality picks up again once the story is kicked off.

Oh, before I forget, the Vulcan twins are annoying as hell.

It's called Avatar: The Last Airbender.

And it's not an anime, it's an American animated series, despite the Asian cultural influences in the setting. If you don't like animation at all I wouldn't recommend it, but most tropes associated with Japanese storytelling aren't really present in the show if that's what's putting you off.

(Speaking of anime, I've watched Summer Wars yesterday. What a good movie.)

Oh, now I'm undertsanding you. I watched it once or twice, and I'll admit, I actually thought it was kinda cool. I might give it a go, who knows.

Have you seen Akira?

No, but it has been recommended to me already (I don't actually know that many anime shows or movies). Is the dubbed version worth watching?

I usually prefer subbed for almost everything, but Akira and Life is Beautiful (La Vita E Bella) are two exceptions. The new Akira dub (from around 2000) is very very good.

PS. Akira predicted the 2020 Tokyo Olympics from the 80s

Ah, so it was Akira that was referenced in all those photoshopped images when the Tokyo Olympics were announced. I usually watch subs too because I prefer good voice acting even if I don't understand the language, but sometimes the dub is done well enough.

The first shopkeep from Skyrim does a voice in the dub. He plays a shopkeep too. I expect him to start saying GO OUT AND FIND MY GOLDEN CLAW!

I thought Korra didn't appear until the newer series The Legend of Korra , which was set some years after ATLA?

That's right. But I think ATLA is the better starting point so I recommended that.
