LINESII- Into the Darkness

OOC: When bandong, Faitei and etc join me how many troops will I get? I need this for ah... "stuff" :)

I don't know if it was deducted from Davar (the former one)

What, is there a new one? And the way I understood it was that I paid one point toal for Stategium (Which I did. Re-read the update). And yes, we are quite dead :mischief:

Just for the fun: Lets all guess where Contempt will attack next.
Ikki, Citadel, Davar, Malkavia- My personal guess is either me or Ikki ;).

Terris, don't forget to send me that Eco in your orders. And a road would be nice:D

Btw, Iggy, could you give me a ruler list or something? I know that we had 32 kings named Cecil during the last 1200 or so years, but when exactly did which reign?

The Lengel Horde: The Most Efficient War Machine since the Eldranians.

When Lord Kaiser Rajo Oborski first learnt of the Lengel horde, striking swifting towards civilization, he dismissed them as barbarian fool who would not conquer anything. Perhaps this was because he was rather intoxicated at the time but never the less, the Lengel were severly underestimated by civilized nations. Their numbers are great, and they have the advantage of speed. Their lightning warfare, now known as "Blitzortrobri", worked extremely well against the infantry armies of Nkondi and Maugot, and the trainning and numbers provided to be a great addition to their strength. It would seem that the Lengel numbers were endless at first, of course this was quickly proven false.

Before one makes any decisions of the Lengel, one must understand the dynamics of the Lengel army. Its army is not constructed like civilized nations, with men constripted into service, trained, and then paid a wage to serve for the majority of their life. Their army is made up of simply, people. The Lengel people as a whole, are a military structure. Men are trained in the art of war by their fathers, since the only job in the Lengel is to fight. There are no masons, blacksmiths. It is a truly nomadic and barbaric people.

Compare this with the Eldarians, who were not a nomadic civilization. Though their economic focus was completely on their military, with which they would destroy the "demons", they still had to use the system of consripting, training, and paying their warriors. They did not seek to assimilate people into their ways, like the Lengel, they sought to destroy them completely. This is the crucial difference between the Eldarians, and many other civilized nations, and the Lengel, who would assimilate if you did not resist, and slaughter you or rape you until you did. The fear tactics used are vastly different.

Why is the Lengel such an efficient war machine, because that is all it is, a war machine. It's people are warriors, by birth. It's nation, because of its nomadic nature, and because of its extreme aggreesion and Warlord government, is defined by its warriors. One must grasp that the only thing the Lengel focus on, is war, hence making them the most efficient war machine, because that is all they are, a war machine. No civilization can become a war machine, since if it were to become such a thing, then it would no longer be civilized. They do not have to worry about building roads or distributing grain to people. They do not have to worry about policing their nation, or keeping roads clean, or providing libraries and investing into blacksmiths.

Hence the question is possed, how can one defeat, counter, or compete with such a force? Time, is the ultimate advisary of such barbarians. When the Lengel run out of room in which to make war they will settle down and begin to become civilized. As soon as a capital is developed for these barbarians they will want more and more to become civil. A capital provides a stable, structured, and stationary pedestal for authority figures to govern. With the construction of such a place it will string the Lengel to it, create a leash to which it must keep itself teathered to.

Hence why i am so pleased that Lord Kaiser Drago Oboroski as taken my advise and signed peace with the Lengel. Sacrifices must be made for the greater good, nations and people will no doubt be slaughtered by the Lengel Horde, but civilization shall always prevail.

Orders sent. Longest yet. If theres any problem Iggy, tell me before hand so it won't all go bad.

Btw: I love how everyone was gung-ho on fighting the Lengels on all fronts at the beginning, and how they all jumped at the first chance of a NAP they could get. :mischief: Maybe its time to start planning an exodus myself.........

When are orders due?
Don't know, but we're sending them so hopefully Iggy can do an update on Friday before he leaves for two weeks.

Orders sent.

@Darkening: I was never gung-ho. I knew exactly what I wanted, and I have a good reason for peace.

Of course I'm not entirly sure cause iggy MIGHT be too lazy to do it.
Oh Iggy, are you still going to update? prior to holiday?
I kinda doubt it. And I am not lazy!

Iggy, I don't think you finished updated my stats yet, because my troop number, population, project progress, culture are wrong. If its easier, i can post a list of what neeeds to be fixed.
You overspent. I had to mix around a few things. Stop hassling me, please.

OOC: When bandong, Faitei and etc join me how many troops will I get? I need this for ah... "stuff"
They don't have an army.

Liggy, clean your PM box please!
Done.

Btw, Iggy, could you give me a ruler list or something? I know that we had 32 kings named Cecil during the last 1200 or so years, but when exactly did which reign?
Divide 1200 by 32. None did anything particularly wonderful, (a few fought the Eldranians at the very end, a few fought minor border wars with the Moguls) until Cecil XXVIII (or is that XXX? You can choose either). The Cecilid Kings from then on:
1. Annexed the Northern Mogul lands.
2. Declared war on Tristaria, but were ultimately defeated and lost their holdings east of the Kalmar River to Tristaria and Davar.
3. Acted very erratically (SB came and went).

@Cuiv- Bah, I probably can't do update on Thursday, not a good one at least. Send 'em before July 8, or just around when I get back.

Or you could send orders now and I could do some partial updating so that I can get it done sooner when I get back.

Any particular reason why Gammorea doesn't have stats? :p

I was never gung-ho. I knew exactly what I wanted, and I have a good reason for peace.

I was talking mainly about Ken and SS. They were all ready to form an alliance, but then when Contempt offered a NAP they jumped on it. I just think its funny ;).

Well, that much I know - I did do some reserach after all. ;) Ah well, I'll find some way to pack them there.

Orders sent. I wonder how my attempts at conquest will go...?

are orders due soon? or for when you get back from holiday. I dont see why you are all worried about the lengels, its the Citadel you have to worry about their insidous!! honestly I have to completely change my culture to try and stop them screwing me over.

Well hopefully they'll destroy each other - the Lengels will raze the Citadel, but not before the deadly Cultural Assimilation Ray fires at them making them pacifistic and lazy. ;)

OOC: See now Iggy you can blame the polar bears! :p Das joined! :D *notes to self* I really hope das and contempt kill each other off ;)

Alex, I know we haven't discovered each other and everything, all the weird diplomatic insults can come later...but I want to settle the whole boundry issue right now. The geography will probably alter things a little, but I was hoping that future borders can be divided along these lines:

I really hope das and contempt kill each other off

That'll be rather difficult - no border, plus he has a slight numerical advantage. ;)

Any particular reason why Gammorea doesn't have stats?
$#!7 !!!

I must have deleted them when I moved them to the NPC list...

Edit: JD, damn, you nearly gave me a heart attack! It's in the NPCs. At least check before you start complaining!

Next person to do something like that will be smote with plague!
