Worker automate is not fair is sucession games - please do not use it. Also, no long go to orders. Don't fortify ships in the middle of the ocean. Patch 1.17 required.

All victory conditions are disabled. I have never played a game until 2050, so this will be it!

Civ = India
World = Standard, Wet, Warm, 5 Billion, large continents.
Difficulty = Regent
Barbarians = Roaming
# Civs = 8
24 hours to verify you can play your turn, 48 hours to play.
Your choice, up to 20 turns. You can always play less.

Well, I decided to build a post with the history of the LK games.
Partially curious, and I have done 15, but can't figure out which counties I haven't played!

LK1 - Persia, no special plans.
Domination in 1580 AD. Did you really expect anything else with Persia?
Whole game players - lkendter
part of game players - kelper, Belisarius, joespaniel, Malys Faisent, hobbes, SkidiWili, Pggar, jc011
This was a very rough game for keeping players.

LK2 - Greece, no special plans.
Diplomatic around 2000 AD.
Whole game players - lkendter, Ohwell, Nanook
part of game players - CornMaster, donsig, pggar, FlubberDubs

LK3 - India, no special plans.
Conquest in 1740 AD.
Whole game players - LKendter, Knight-Dragon
part of game players - CornMaster, Scoobs, Scoobs, SkidiWili, Hobbes

LK4 - Egypt, no special plans.
Domination in 1550 AD.
Whole game players - lkendter, kev, Ohwell
part of game players - SkidiWili, fsume93, lurking
This was the game that I learned important lesson - in succession games, less players is better.

This created my 48 hour rule

LK5 - America, no special plans.
Ended in 1916 with a diplomatic victory.
Whole game players - lkendter, hobbes, magicbacon, Jaffa Tamarin
part of game players - Zulu fodder, Scoobs

LK6 - Iroqious, LARGE world. Anyone plays.
Ended in 1992 AD with domination victory. Was close to a 20000 culture in Salamanca, and with a tech lead might have pulled off a space race about 2040AD.

LK7 - Babylon, 20000 point city challenge.
20000 pts in 1838, cultural victory. This one was in good shape by 490BC and we had ALREADY build Pyramids, Oracle (hugh culture wonder) and Colosus.
Whole game players - LKendter, Pggar, Sirian, cdub, Garsonga
 I love games with no droppouts

LK8 - France, planed as a space race game.
Space ship launched in 1974 AD. This was one of the biggest blowouts I ever played. France build almost all wonders, and had a hugh tech lead the whole game.
Whole game players - LKendter, Carbon_Copy, Thiazi
part of game players - gonzo_for_civ, Ohwell

LK9 - Zulu, SMALL map, no wonder building.
Ends in 1410 with a domination victory.
Whole game players - LKendter, Brian J, OneInTen, LayZMan, Thiazi
 I love games with no droppouts

LK10 - Japan, with crappy terrain (arid, cold, etc).
Ends in 1892 with a marginal diplomatic victory. I was amazed the world liked us since we blasted away India, and China, and Rome.
Whole game players - LKendter, LayZMan, Brian J, Thiazi
part of game players - Grey Fox

LK11 - England, anyone plays.
Ends 1978 with a domination victory.
Very unexpected result, as England was the weakling for most of the game. I expect space race or diplomatic.

LK12 - Rome. No preset plans.
Diplomatic victory in 1850. The best bet, as Rome just could not get into a powerhouse position.
Whole game players - LKendter, Brian J, Harleqin, shdwlord
I love games with no droppouts

LK13 - China, planned from start as a domination victory.
Domination victory in 1928.
Whole game players - LKendter,Thiazi, Pggar, shdwlord
I love games with no droppouts

LK14 - Russa, any plays.
I wonder, another domination / conquest?

LK15 - India. All victory condition disabled. Playing to 2050.

I would like to join! I've played a few other SG and I've beaten monarch a few times solo, and I'd like to move up! Hope I can help! :D

I'll be interested to play as the indians as I have never played a game with them. Let the elephants dance.

The cast so far.

Exsanguination

Actually, I know Exsanguination. I played in a greek game of his. I had the honor of clearing the Aztec trash off of our continent.

I haved even gotten the game started, but it is almost filled!
Well, I had one false start - I realize I didn't have the settings advertised for the game before my turn was over ;)

I've read enough of these posts that I know NEVER to build a non-veteran military unit in Lee's games!:D

:rotfl:

Well, I don't know many times my 4 hp Samuria had 1 hp left after kill 3 hp WE.

4 hp musketman with 1 hp after 3 hp knights attacked, etc.

I does influence the odds!

With 1.17, it becomes more important. Two move units like horseman, are more likely to retreat if Vet or elite.

I'd love to go for another round of LK games, but I don't have the time right now for this one. I do have some suggestions though:

-Maybe use a small size map instead of standard? Anything to make the 20th century take a shorter time to play. Then again, scaling the tech tree would be much faster on a smaller map and you'd run out of things to do besides hit next turn quicker. As long as it's not a large or huge map, you'll probably be fine.

-You'll be bored very quickly if you show too much bloodlust. Sitting around with 95% of the world's territory under your control and hitting next turn from 1600 till 2050 is more of a chore than a game (though it will probably get you more points if you guys care about score). I've never played with conquest disabled unless LK8 had conquest turned off (in which case I already know the answer to this question), are you allowed to eliminate opponents, but not all of them? Or can you only leave them with one city? Or can you eliminate all the other civs, but the game doesn't grant you a victory until 2050? Either way, it will be more of a game if you guys show some LK8-like restraint and leave people whose territory is useless to you alone unless they do something stupid like declare war on you.

-Territory counts for big points on the histograph, but so do happy people. With India being religious, temples and cathedrals should be high priorities for their low-rent happiness, as should happiness wonders like the Hanging Gardens, Sistine, JS Bach, Cure for Cancer, etc.

4000 BC - Da Capital is formed. On a river, 2 grasslands with shields spotted.
Pop the nearby hut, +25 gold.
Five grasslands with shields, and cattle once the borders expand.
3500 BC - Moooooooooooooo. Lot's of cattle around.
3250 BC - A hut gives us - Pottery :)
3100 BC - Gee, what a surprise. Angry warriors from a hut. :(
3050 BC - Elite, unhurt warrior. Don't attack a warrior on a mountain.
3000 BC - CowTown is formed - want to guess what is nearby?
Gee, $36 and we are the richest nation?
2670 BC - Cowtown already can build a settler.
2630 BC - Begin research on writing.
Da Capital switches from Granary, to the ultimate Granary - the Pyramids.
A map from a goody hut
2350 BC - Another map from a goody hut
Our first palace expansion.
2230 BC - HillVille is formed. Of course, it has a cow spot to :)
2070 BC - OK, I exceeded my standard first 40. However, I had to see who the border was.
 It is Persia.
Persia is heavy in war tech - Bronze, Wheel and Warrior.
He couldn't care less about - Alphabet, Pottery, and Burial.

Summary - HillVille and CowTown can pump out settlers / workers like crazy.
Da Capital is an excellent wonder builder.
Get us the Pyramids. Develope Da Capital some more.

So how long does it take to get to 2050?

Up next - charliehoke
You are more then welcome to continue silly city names ;)
[hint = YES]

For those of you who like pictures -

I'll try to post tonight, but it might not be until tomorrow night. I'm eastern time by the way.

Also, I still feel like a relative newbie, so don't forget to cut me some slack! :D

Well ADD -
LK15 to your succession game list (GIANT HINT)

Now if you try to squeeze a city to the left of CowTown

We are now at the standard 20 max

My instinct tells me we should send our next settlers to claim the luxuries towards Persia... Then we can back fill the land in between? What do you guys thnk?

:p Well at least one block of the dyes would be nice :p

Well.. I missed 13 and 15.. Oh well.. I've gotta get checking the board earlier :)

The China game looked awesome, I'll be watching this too.. I'd like to see you get through the whole tech tree too. I've never seen that in a Civ3 game yet. It always ends too soon.
