Here I go!
2030 BC - Persia dials the phone and politely requests that we move our units out of his territory. Oh all right. Hillville finishes its warrior and begins a settler.
I check on our capitol and its associated great project, the Pyramids, and I notice that we have an entertainer. I try a little experiment, and I turn the luxury tax to 10% and take the entertainer off, which speeds up construction of the Pyramids by
12 turns!! This is well worth it. I plan on sticking another troop in there to further allieviate happiness problems, but there is little doubt we will get the Pyramids now.
1990 BC - In a battle whose glory will be sung for ages to come, our warrior defeats a barbarian warrior.
1950 BC - Our warrior scouting in the West completes his task and moves to the capitol to help keep those folks in line.
1910 BC - Cow Town finishes warrior, starts settler. I'm an expansion freak. :mutant:
1870 BC - Should we trade for Persian tech? Prices are pretty steep... I decide to put it off in hope of the Great Library...
1830 BC - Barbarians nearing the capitol. Goody hut sighted!
1790 BC - I note, with a non-trivial amount of joy, that the settler is timed perfectly in Hillville. The goody hut reveals.... maps!
1750 BC - The barbarian horde (1 warrior) is about to attack our capitol (2 warriors).
1725 BC - Our elite warrior defends the capitol - without losing a hitpoint! I am irrigating a grassland tile near Cow town... Now listen, I
know that this is useless under despotism, but the idea is so that I can then irrigate the cow, so no flames please!
1700 BC - Writing discovered!!! I consider researching the back techs we don't have yet, but I pass, and start on Literature instead. I really want to get the library, if we can. I note the Cow Town settler is timed perfectly as well...
1675 BC - Settler completed - moving towards luxuries and flood plains towards Persia.
1650 BC - I brake down and trade Pottery and Alphabet to Persia for Bronze working and a tiny amount of gold. I just can't stand not having the option of building spearmen.
1625 BC - Cow Town produces Settler - starts on a spearmen, although I plan on changing this...
1600 BC - Capitol is going to go into disorder because I moved one of the warriors out to escort our settler - I still want to keep the current production rate going so add an entertainer- we really need to get those dyes online.
1575 BC - I notice the Persians have Iron Working.. and we all know what that means...
1550 BC - Hillville completes warrior - starts ANOTHER settler! We need to claim all this great land! I'm sending our second settler to a good spot in the NE that will have access to 3 hills, a cow, and several bonus grassland tiles... but I'm sending it without escort! I know this is a gamble, but there is a warrior right behind it...
1525 BC - I switch Cow town to temple - it needs those bonus grasslands. Settlers moving into position - I'm not putting them exactly where those dots are - the one in the south I'm going to put on the river and the one in the NE is a good spt but there wasn't a dot up there. Honestly, I don't think I saw the dots before I played - sorry Lee.
1500 BC - I hope I do this right - Settlers getting close...
1475 BC - I get to found two cities on my 20th turn!!!
1450 BC - Industrial Metal Works founded in the NE! I named it such becasue it is going to be a major production city someday, and I'm hoping it'll have iron. Pleasantville founded in the south, named for it's abundance of food (flood plains) and luxuries (dyes)! It also has several hills around, so it'll be great production also!
Our barbarian warrior also attacked a barbarian camp with a warrior in it, only to find a horsemen underneath??? Never seen that before, but our warrior is probably toast.
I think we need to build a few more workers in our new cities. Other than that, I think we are off to a good start! I think we should keep pumping out settlers until we can't expand anymore, then worry about war with Persia...
