The decision to award Mr Carbosiero an MBE sparked anger.

It also emerged just days after the PM was attacked for honouring a host of other pals, allies and Tory donors in the New Year’s Honours list.

PR friend Alan Parker, who has holidayed with the Prime Minister and his family, was among those handed a knighthood.

Property developer Peter Emerson, who donated £41,600 to the Tories, was handed an OBE. And Apprentice star and Tory golden girl Karren Brady, who introduced George Osborne at the party conference, got a CBE.

Marion Helen and Simon Mort, both Tory activists in the PM’s patch in West Oxfordshire, also received OBEs.

Labour MP Steve Pound ridiculed the Prime Minister’s reliance on his celebrity hairdresser pal.

Mr Cameron has faced growing mockery for trying to cover up his bald patch with a “Cam-over” comb over.

Mr Pound said: “The bald truth is this - it must be a cover up. It may not be hair-raising but it certainly raises questions about cronyism.

“It’s a tight little circle gathering round the barber’s chair. We should make sure there’s no cover up - let alone a comb-over.”

No two ways about this cover-up. What used to lean to the left, now leans to the right, still being funny as always, and a hairdresser is named a Member of the Order of the British Empire 1 for his part.

same side of the Mirror said:
Backbench Labour MP Phil Wilson said: “Cameron has given an MBE to his vanity hairdresser.

“He deserves a gong, after all it’s a tall order to make him look good.”

Well, Cameron seems to be doing great and all, but maybe he should wait for the new Falklands Malvinas islands war before fighting with Hague for a comb? 2

You can discuss the latest apathy to hide a glaring spot which reflects more unpleasantly what was always real anyway.
Also politics and what it has become :)

"Most Excellent Order" sounds decidedly Bill-and-Ted-esque...it's not really called that, is it?

It is, part of Cameron's most excellent adventure now :)

wiki on the order said:
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is an order of chivalry established on 4 June 1917 by King George V.[1][2] The Order is composed of five classes in civil and military divisions. In descending order of seniority, these are:

Knight Grand Cross or Dame Grand Cross of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (GBE)[a]
Knight Commander or Dame Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE or DBE)
Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE)
Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE)
Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE)

Has HM's government managed to institute the ministry of Silly Walks yet?

To me this is as significant as a bunch of kids at a playground deciding who's a secret spy and who isn't.

As nice as the story is, the PM doesn't decide who is nominated for an honour, although he does approve the list. In fact, the organisations choosing people to be honoured are nothing to do with the ruling party. Perhaps, heaven forbid, being a remarkably good barber makes you a likely choice for someone whose job depends on his image?

I'm really not sure why we should expect anything even involving the British monarchy to be reasonable. Seems to me that by the simple fact of that involvement, they've made a concious decision to given the whole "reason" business a miss.

I think what you're missing is that David Cameron's hair is truly fabulous.

That barber is obviously a national treasure.
