[Mini]Fear and Loathing in Hollywood: An Experimental Mafia [In-Play]

vote: BSmith

it's funny syndrome, that you think so much like a child.....OMGUS

Exterminate: Zack...

did syndrome invent you dear dalek? I'm a much better inventor than he ever could be......or are you simply programmed to shout
SAVE SYNDROME
SAVE SYNDROME
SAVE SYNDROME

Is there a particularly good reason why people care to save any one individual person in a lynch?

I'm happy to go random vote every day as that's more likely than any metagame stuff by me to just get a scum (especially since apparently we can force ties at night or something).

This is literally the second time you've come in with a vote that is very protective of BSmith mr dalek.

I agree, duels are overrated.

WE WERE CREATED BY DAVROS... SYNDROM IS IRRELEVANT http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Davros

The reason why I am going along with the duel idea is as follows: With the duels, the traitors will align towards one side of the vote or the other, and, since the duels are still random voting, I feel that they would tend towards voting for their adversaries (since that leaves a chance that no one else will come to equalize the vote, and hence their ally will be completely safe from the lynch, whereas voting for your ally strongly increases the risk of them being lynched in a scenario where the race is so close). Hence, if we lynch a traitor via dueling, we can look for other traitors amongst those who voted for his opponent.

The only alternatives are bandwagonning on single people, based on poor evidence (what I tried last time, that failed embarrassingly, and the traitors could just hide on the bandwagon), or to spread our votes out (ala this night. The result being that either no one is lynched, or the traitors have an easy time hiding amongst the chaos).

Dueling on the other hand is very structured, so its hard for traitors to hide (you yourself admit this by accusing me of being in league with syndrome based on my voting patterns, voting patterns only possible within the structured scheme of the duel), and its twice as likely to have a traitor as one of the candidates, since two people are put under the microscope each day, and not just one wagon victim.

In any case, I think that it has tangible benefits, and so is worth a try, which is why I am voting along with it.

Day 3:

It was a peaceful morning. There were no killings last night and that made Syndrome feel good.

He went down to the Break Room to get himself a bagel. But when he got there most of the town was waiting there for him.

"Hey fellas," greeted Syndrome, nervously. He backed slowly away from the group, but he wasn't fast enough. Maul closed the door behind him.

"You're not going anywhere traitorous scum," said Darth Maul.

"What are you going to do to me?"

"We'll let the doctor figure that one out."

Hannibal Lecter was at the other end of the room, sharpening a knife while licking his lips.

"Why would you do this to me, I thought we were friends, Lecter," gasped Syndrome.

"Syndrome, just because I just met you doesn't mean I'm not going to kill you. In fact a census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti. Thththththththth," said Lecter. Getting closer and closer.

"NO. NOOO. NOOOOOOOOO!" screamed Syndrome, the last words he would ever utter. That night the entirety of the warehouse had a nice chili to eat.

BSmith1068 was lynched!

Spoiler :
He was a Mafioso!

Night 3 has begun!

I'm sure there will be an update any second now.

Any second...

Night 3:

Night had just fallen and Krank, The Dalek, and M. Bison were huddled together in a corner of the warehouse, enjoying their chili.

The Joker, Darth Maul, and Hannibal Lecter came out of the dark to talk to them.

"Uhhh... Hello boys, what are you doing here?" said Krank.

"We're here to take care of, uh, a little business," said the Joker, who pulled out a pistol and shot M. Bison.

SouthernKing was killed!

Spoiler :
He was a Mafioso!

"YOU. ARE. THE. TRAITORS!" screamed the Dalek, "YOU. WILL. BE. EXTERMINATED!!!"

Darth Maul got his lightsaber out and sliced the Dalek in half.

spaceman98 was killed!

Spoiler :
He was a Mafioso!

"You would kill a friend, now would you?" asked Krank in a panicked tone.

"Hehehehe, you have never met me, have you?" snarled the Joker aiming his pistol at Krank.

"PLEASE, HAVE MER-"

BANG! Krank was dead. The Joker laughed a hearty evil laugh that could scare Satan himself and put his arms around Maul and Lecter.

"Gentelmen, I think this is the start of a new era for villainry. An era of competence, an era where we win."

choxorn, Zack, and Sprig left the building!

Spoiler :
They were Traitors!

TRAITOR VICTORY!

ah whelp.

didn't expect 3--no reason not too though, just wasn't thinking. would have gone for choxorn, good work not flinching sprig though. and choxorn flinching towards "saving" bsmith day 2 :p

i was way off the mark of course. Didn't help. :(

We were a cult and I was the leader. We started with just me; I converted Zack night 1 and Sprig night 2.

I also sent in an order to convert you tonight, but it seems it was unnecessary.

Which makes me wonder: Martin, for stats purposes, should I count the game as having ended after day three or night three (basically, is SouthernKing dead and what alignment is Kennigit?)

With the game over, I would like to point out that I was voted for a grand total of zero times, despite the fact that you had two lynches per day/night phase. Everyone else got at least one vote, but not me. Not once.

You guys had a day lynch AND a night lynch against a cult with no abilities but conversion, and you accomplished nothing against us.

TL;DR: Best Anti-Townie Performance 2014 Award Winners, right here.

What do you guys think of the tie idea? If we had actually gone with my proposal, would we have done better, worse, or equivalently?

Also, excellent cult game, choxorn, you have my vote for best Mafiosi Traitor.
