[mod] Warlords: Total Realism 2.3a

Hi TR team.

I know you guys are working on CTD problem. Maybe this will help you?

I get a CTD every single time (in 4 different games now) when a city completes my Civs 2nd Bronze smith. I can build one bronze smith and I am fine, but the moment a 2nd city completes a bronze smith then the game crashes.

If I change the build order for that city to something else other then a bronze smith then the game does not crash and keeps on going fine.

Is anyone else getting a crash when they build a 2nd bronze smith? Like I say, this is my 4th game now (I gave up on the other 3 with this bug) and it happens every single time.

Yeap. Good analysis. :goodjob:
We know that the bronze smith is the problem. It seems that the game crashes when a civ try to build more than the allowed number of Bronze smith. Just to remember: one Bronze smith per copper ressource.

The first solution for a human player is to not try to build more than the allowed number.
When i have these CTD, i also often reload the game with the last game save and sometimes the game can be continued (as it seems that the AI recover some of its capacities to change the production in respect of the allowed number). My last game test also CTD. Nevertheless, after reloading, i was able to continue.

All in all, we are working on this bug.:scan: We hope a quick solution.

Hian the Frog.

I'm not really an expert on these things...But wouldn't the easy solution be to simply remove the Bronze Smith until a fix can be found?

I would assume I could go into the XML and deactivate the Bronze Smith from the game...If that is a solution, could someone post how to do that?

It is not only bronze smiths - it's affecting all converter buildings, so removing this particular one would just postpone it till later. Fortunately, I have a miracle cure for you. Replace the dll in your "Total Realism/Assets" folder with the one attached here. It is savegame compatible, so you can continue the saves that used to give you CTDs. Now you won't be able to build and operate more converter buildings than you have prerequisite resources - as originally intended.

Note that it is a 2.13 dll, incompatible with 2.08 - but you should have upgraded long time ago anyway, no real reason to hold onto 2.08 now. The installer will be updated with the new dlls soon too - but all people who have already downloaded and installed TR 2.3 just need to replace the dll.

what about other industry buildings like automobile factories, canneries, chemical plants, etc?

EDIT: nvm was posted while I was typing.

Dam this sucks but it will do for Now.
I really want to play as the TR team originally intended.:goodjob:
Best of luck guys in getting those freaking bugs.:D

Am I supposed to be able building the copper( bronze) units in all of my sityes if I have a converter only in a single sity?

After using the dll. you gave, the pc wouldn't be able building more then one converter also?

Not one, but equal to the amount of input resources. If you have two copper, you can build and operate two smiths. If at any moment later you lose one copper, then one of the smiths will be deactivated. The same applies to AI.

Hello TR Team!!

I am using space because the site is out of the air, and I prefer to write for there.
The version 2.3 is very cool! I love the tech tree and the news units! Like a primitive ram, civil engineering give +1 moviment of road, and and being more difficult to expand the empire immediately in beginning of game.

I love the news flags too, except the Inca flag... too much colored, similar to a rainbow of the international gay community (anything against, alone a verification). Very good the India, russia, scandinavian, greek, german...:goodjob:

I liked the increase of the artificial intelligence of the computer, it is not making demands every time and also, and computer to decrease the number of military units, concentrating in more powerful units. I think that the computer is building more distant cities, what is very good!

About of bug of bronze smith, I confirm, if you build more of resource capacity, the game, turn off.

Another bug, is simple, the seljuk swordman of turks is pink!

Another problem is about religion, in my game the Indians adopted your favorite religion, tends in ALL the other cities other religion, except one, in the which he changed. It would be good to reduce this preference.

The files in which the game is saving are smaller, very good!

Congratulations!!!!:goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

- Inca flag is the historical one, unfortunately. Yes, it is very close to the Gay Pride, up to the point that ethnic Incas and the gay community are contesting the rights to it.

- Bronze smith: use the updated dll I provided above, it gets rid of CTD.

- Seljuk Swordsman should be all right, it is very weird; I checked all units prior to release. Could it be that you're trying to run our mod on a videocard that doesn't support 2.0 shaders? TR wasn't designed to be run on lower-end videocards, unfortunately. Anyway, I will double-check.

- Favorite religion preference is absolute. If AI has at least one city with its favorite religion, it will convert no matter what. Use it to your advantage, it is like this by design (and yes, it probably hurts AI in more cases than it helps). :)

I hope the gay pride win!!! And the Inca adopt a more beautiful flag!
Does exist possibility of altering for other Inca symbol in future versions?

I don´t use videocard.

Thanks for miracle!;)

(and yes, it probably hurts AI in more cases than it helps). Yes, this is not intelligent, and the human player never do this. I believe that the same logic that disable that we have options that the computer doesn't know how to use, this is also framed in this option.
:D

If the Incas are too gay for your taste, you can extract this file in Total Realism/assets/art/interface/teamcolor folder (most likely it won't be there, so just create it) - and the Incas will use a different, yet also correct checkered pattern.

Every day I am more your fan!!!:):):) Walter? Fast, agile, effective! Thank you very much!

This flag besides being more beautiful it is also necessary historically, inside of the philosophy of TR!:king::king::king::king::king::king:
