[mod] Warlords: Total Realism 2.3a

Two bugs I have encountered so far:

1. Initially the AI city defense % is not displayed (and I guess not stored.)

I moved Primitive Rams up to a size 3 city (it had no defense % displayed and the rams could not bombard.)

A few turns later the AI cities started to display the % and the rams could bombard.

I had not discovered a new tech, it just happened, around 480AD realistic speed.

2. Same game, when attacking a unit in a city and reaching the GP points to pop a great general, I got a flag bearer instead. The previous 4 pops gave a GG but not the 5th one.

Edit: Unable to add an attachment save game file. Sorry.

I didn't notice before cause I usually play with the sound down, but is that the EU2 (or 3) soundtrack on there? Pretty good listening either way.

First, I am very happy!! Good-bye MAF, because now I use system 64 bit.

A funny bug happened, when I reinstalled my TR, bombards will turn in airplanes!! It is a shame that they can just fly from a city to the other, and not to attack, I think that my scientists still didn't decipher this "alien" technology.:crazyeye:(after this I upgrade with hotfix and .dll file)

Happened a bug that I don't think of the civ, I press enter and in my next turn my game breaks!

The file attached.

Hi,

Is it possible to add pre-made leaderheads from other mods into TR 2.3 gold? If so could someone explain me how to do it? Thank you.

You should post this in the "Scenarios" section of our forum. http://civ4.houmie.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=23

1. Are you sure it HAD defense % before? Cities that didn't get thier first border expansion don't have any defense % (size doesn't matter).

2. Yes, happened once to me too, seems that's how the game logic works - will probably have to remove the guy.

There's no easy "magical" way to add them. You have to do quite a lot of XML work - and add some XML fields that will likely be missing in non-TR leaderheads, like favorite religion.

Was there ever a fix for the incessant 'you cannot complete/don't have the resources for' messages? Its gone a bit beyond minor inconvenience. Every other time I build a road it'll take me back to any city building one of those resource based buildings telling me I can't build it (at which point I simply click to build it again, and all is well). Flips back to that after a city is conquered. Sometimes twice. Really any change in culture borders, improvements, conquests...seems like any change in the map at all potentially triggers it. And late in the game there's an annoyingly long pause while it waits for those messages to pop up.

My top left message tab is completely useless since its nothing but endless pages of mythical resource shortages each year. Its almost to the point of making the game unplayable. Was there a mini-patch I missed on this?

My mistake. It had not expanded it's borders.

I know you've recieved problems like this before, but I need help getting my game up and running smoothly. The mod installed correctly, (I think), but when I play a game there is no info bar or anything other than my units on the map. It's as if all the tool bars and mouse options have disappered. I can still use the keyboard to command my settler to build the capital, but I'm pretty much screwed after that. Another possibly related problem is that my flag and England's is white, whereas most other civs have a single color flag like burgandy or orange.

What is the solution to this problem? I am running the final release of Civ 4 Gold Edition. I've checked and it's the 2.1.3 version. Please help me out here. It really sucks hearing how great this mod is and not being able to experience it.

Thanks,

Brad

I tried reinstalling everything to try to get rid of a three turn crash I've been getting. Just a question: is the 2.3 download on TR website superior to the two downloads on the first page of this thread? Also, am I supposed to install the cvdll fix on theTR forum even if I dl it today?

Thanks in advance.

What he said, except the hotfix (the second link) is not needed. You should download the installer and the fixed dll.

I don't know if it helps, but I am posting the same game but in other situation that it is broken. It is only to conquer Neapolis killing the romans that the game is broken.

They crappy traits and a worthless national building.

But DEAR GOD the Kensai kicks arse.

10 triple promoted Imperial gloried Kensai all built with Shah Name bonus? Godly.

I'd never played the Japanese before simply because I liked being on the continent. (who wants your three greatest cities for the early part of the game to be neglected when it comes to the 'continent only' wonders...or even worse, have continent only wonders that apply only to 3 cities) But the Kensai has quickly become my favorite unit in the game.

The 3 must have promotions (IMO) for your stack of elite shock troops are commando, march, and blitz. It also helps if that stack can move more than one space a turn. Imperial gloried kensai essentially start with 2 out of 3. They can promote fast to the 3rd one. With the Shah promotion they become unbeatable city destroyers until the age of gunpowder.

My only regret is that they don't promote along the gunpowder chain. Those things would be monster IFV's. Any chance of changing this or giving an option? (or was the tank promotion chain a means of limiting their power a bit?) I guess an infantry doctrine on a tank might be interesting enough. And I just might use my excess great generals on the Kensai instead of the usual superior tank design/mass production/blitz trio.

Anyway, awesome unit. Singlehandedly makes the japanese worth playing.

No, they are supposed to be like this: the most uber melee unit in-game, but useless after its age has past, for a very long period of time. Everything has a price.

Yes, Walter is right. Kensei are "the end-of -the-line" melee unit. They are awesome, really awesome against other melee units... As time goes on, they become weaker and weaker until beeing useless. Nevertheless, an aggressive Japanese player can use them wisely for a short-medium time. :p

In fact, we are happy with this unit. We met difficulties finding and building a good National Unit for Japan. This one seems very good in our opinion.

About Japanses UB: yes, it's not the best of the game. One day i will really look at it. Feel free to give your ideas or comments. We always look at them.;)
