[modmodmod] SOI expanded

I forgot to say (though you may have noticed) that I replaced Nikopolis with Arta, since Nikopolis went into decline and was abandoned during the first half of the time period, while Arta was the capital of Epirus and was the most important city there throughout the time period.

And, just wondering, why don't you like the culture at 5? It doesn't really make much of a difference, gameplay-wise, but it's consistent with all the other preplaced cities and was what was originally done.
 
I think an expanded SoI should have a Tamil trading company, like the Venetians and Genoese. it would be easy to add.
 
I thought about adding a Hindi trading company that adds food with Rice and Spices.

Would make sense considering how high the population of India was/is. It would also be fairly balanced I think.

I'm sorry for the late response - I was on vacation with no Internet. The only change to the map that would affect city names is adding a grass tile 2 west of mystras. Also, I am moving Skadar 1 tile south, judging by my maps, that is more accurate.

To add companies, someone would need to tell me how to do I and give me the art. I will also probably add some new music to the next version. Can someone please tell me how to do that, and also how to make it era/region specific?

Yeah, I considered that, but I thought it might be too close to Dyrrachion.

Can you post a screenshot of your Morea? I just want to make sure that what I have is the same as what you have.

Skadar crowding dyrrachion will be less of a problem because I am not giving skadar 15 culture at the start. I believe that if two civs both claim the same tile, the city with the most culture wins.

Anything involving the Tamils has to wait until i expand the map south

First of all, add them to the XML. (XML/GameInfo/ Corporations.xml)
Add the new variables to the consts.py
Make them dynamic in companies.py.
Add the button and add the button to the gamefont.

These files should be changed anyway. Probably you need to change some more files. But you should start with these. (And if these are done, I think you are already 80% (if not 100%) finished)
 
Okay, here are the fixed maps. I tweaked the city name map, Byzantine settler map, Ottoman settler map, and also fixed the province and art styles maps. I also added a couple of new city names for new tiles, but I'm not sure which island the 1-tile island north of Crete is supposed to represent, so I left that blank for now.

To fix the Fatimid Morea bug, just search for lNormalRegions in Consts.py, look for the line with the comment "Fatimids" and remove rMorea from the list.

For a silk road trading company, you could probably just take the art from DoC; for Tamil traders, you could probably take the DoC Tamil flag art and shrink/crop it; for Pisa, you could probably do the same with some other mod that has Pisa (I think Realism Invictus might have it?).

Downloaded and played modmod vol. 2014.07.15 yesterday. Of course, i started for ByzEmpire.
Save 1067AD in attacment; failed 1st UHV:mischief:(Samanids bulbed GA in Herat), missed HoW, 34 cataphracts are waiting for Sultanate of Rum:D...not ideal, but not disastrous, as it seemed in the beginning of the game

I have playtested the new map and it works great. But I am still having some problems.

1. For some reason, there are multiple copies of many of the relics. (I Didn't edit anything related to relics)
2. The game now runs until 2000 AD instead of 1700 AD. (I didn't edit anything related to turn lengths or number of turns)
3. I can't get all 11 corporations to fit in the Corporation or City screen. (Is there a way to fix this?)
And most importantly,
I added in your new CityNameManager, and then added some extra translations to it (Byzantine Tobruk is Tomprouk, Portuguese Suq is Socotorá, etc) Now the City naming feature doesn't work at all. I have attached it to the bottom of the post, as a text document, would you mind taking a look at it?
But the new map works great, thank you so much for that :)

Once I get all of these issues resolved, I will be uploading a new version of the mod.
