Well basketball fans, its that time of the year again. Vote for who you think will get the trophy this year. Whoever gets it right will get a nice surprise.

As much as I have to stand behind my home team (Philadelphia 76ers) I don't think they have what it takes this year. If anyone is going to win, it's going to be the San Antonio Spurs. Once they get the Admiral back in the game, they'll kick everyone's ass.

(BTW, This poll will close in 10 days so you can't come in here on the last game of the playoffs and make a vote.)

I'd be happy with either the Celtics, Magic or Sixers. I have a feeling it's gonna be the Lakers again...

I had to vote for my home team, the Blazers.:D I hope they dont get sweeped in the first round by the LA Fakers. :aargh3: However I think the Spurs have a good chance of winning as well.:goodjob:

I've always been a fan of David Robinson (The Admiral), Tim Duncan and the Spurs in general.

I had to vote for my (former) hometown Orlando Magic :D

Even though they don't have a chance in heck since we're one of those teams suffering from the injury plague (and they're slapping the Hornets around RIGHT NOW, but the game is far from over).

Realistically, I think any of the top 4 in the West could win: Lakers, Kings, Spurs, Mavs. One of those teams just needs to step up, suck it up, and execute properly for a few weeks to get to the finals.

No, your Sixers won't even get past my Celtics in the first round!

L.A. Lakers are gonna win!

Western Conference Finals:
Sacramento - Lakers 2-4

Eastern Conference Finals:
New Jersey - Boston 4-2

NBA Finals:
Lakers - New Jersey 4-1

three-peat for L.A. Lakers :D

NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE SPURS WILL DESTROY YOUR LA FAKERS!!THE SPURS SHALL TRIUMPH!!!!!!!!;) :D

I have to say, I'm more anti-Lakers than pro-anyone, but my pick for the champs (based more on preference than actual playing skill) are the Celtics. Finally, back into the playoffs after a few years, let's see how far they can go :goodjob:

guess so...doesn't matter really. Top priority is that Ajax becomes champion in Holland. ;)

How's Roda JC doing?

Lakers - Blazers 3-0

going on as planned.....(this was LA's 7th straight play-off win against the Blazers....those people should feel ashamed)

I live just out side of Portland. I don't feel ashamed. The Blazers coach should. So should Rasheed Wallace:mad::nono:. Well, I can still root for the Spurs. :goodjob:

Sorry, but none other than the Fakers are winning in the NBA's playoff script.

The league has been watered down by expansion; it now sucks. The dominant Lakers of today would be ten-point underdogs to the championship Lakers of the 80's. If the commisioner can eliminate failing franchises, reducing the league's distribution to four teams/division, then perhaps the problem would be solved and franchises would be able to live up to hype in a newly competitive league.

But the officiating would still suck, especially with the reversion to zone-defense, even though hand-checking has been eliminated. Nowadays, teams are in the penalty with a full nine minutes to go in any given quarter (yesterday, the Sixers attempted forty-four foul shots in regulation - ridiculous). In college basketball, which is now at almost equal pace, teams in whole twenty minute halfs rarely commit five fouls.

But what makes me especially bitter is the end of a close game, which are protracted to about a half-hour: double-timeouts with every possession. They shouldn't be available towards the final two minutes; intelligent players and coaches should be rewarded.

Games are now excruciatingly painful to watch. What makes it worse is that I can only see nationally televised games on NBC, which, of course, features big-market teams with marketable (and usually overrated) franchise players. And Amhad Rashad. And Bill Walton. And NBA journeyman Tom Tolbert. Yuck.

Who cares. Professional basketball is only a step above professional wrestling.
