Today you both set out for the river bend to craft a fish trap. Each of you works on a different part of the process, but together your combined efforts produce the sturdiest construction either of you have ever made. As you put the finishing touches to the project, as you both predicted, a predator descends on you – a jaguar. You are both armed, and fighting two versus one, and so beat back the jaguar handily – though Thomas suffers bruising from the jaguar’s charge. With the weir complete, you both spend the day fishing what you can. Unfortunately you learn that the fish in this river are incredibly small. Your weir’s net was of sufficient quality to nonetheless still trap a decent number of fish but despite the major advantage you gave yourselves, the value of these little fish is so low it takes twice as much effort than catching a regular sized fish to make a meal. The valley is clear of predators, and Immaculate heads home with both his own catch and Thomas’ catch so far to cook a meal for himself (as well as some colourful rocks). Immaculate has enough energy to throw together another linen sheet that he strings into a hammock between two stalagmites before getting an excellent sleep. Thomas continues fishing into the night, catching enough to feed herself too, cooking the meal back at the cave and eating it as the sun rises.

Action Points: 2 AP

Inventory: stone tools (1), rope (1)

It is time to leave Crabbane Isle. To start, you try crafting a bandage, though due to your multiple conditions you find this difficult and produce one that is quite inferior. Next is the hard part, crossing the shark infested waters to the westward continent. You throw together a very quick improvisational bag with the rope and linen, and try to sneak off the island by leaving from a coast where you didn’t spot any sharks. As you get further from the coast, you don’t know whether they will come for you or when, and you try to simply outswim all threats – but you have a vision, and it seems a spirit informs you that they did all they could to mitigate the incoming threat but you will still have to face it. A single shark followed you, and “luckily” it seems only interested in a probing attack. The shark grabs you by your arm and pulls you under the water violently – you keep hold of you the rope to all your belongings but the simple knot doesn’t hold and the bag bursts open. You are in a struggle with a shark and punch it as hard as you can until it finally releases you. You spot the linen and all your tools in the waters, falling, and knowing the shark remains nearby, rush to retrieve something, anything, before you grab air and rush to the shore. You wash up, bleeding, and in enormous pain on your legs and arm and shoulders – you are close to perishing. You pass out. The next morning you survey the area, you're on the continent at the delta of a major river.
Everblack
Status: Major Injury (4, giant scorp sting, penalty to all actions). Hungry (-1 AP). Rested.
Action Points: 2 AP
Traits: Crafty, Warrior
Inventory: stone spear (5), atlatl (5), stone hoe (3), stone tools (3)
Stashed Nearby: cave fire
You wake up to a plains full of predators again. You start reinforcing your spear, improving it considerably. The hyenas approach your cave, but you see them quite clearly and feel more confident in this battle space – you are full of energy and repel the hyenas without taking even superficial damage. You get a strike into multiple of the hyenas that attack you, and you suspect that they would be much weaker in a subsequent fight – if you could pick one off, it would be easy prey. You keep working on weaponry, designing an atlatl for future combat, by which time you exit your cave to go to the river. A new predator approaches you, a gigantic scorpion, and you take a fighting pose. You try using the atlatl and do get a strike in, but you don’t exit the fight without a major injury – the scorpion’s huge stinger gets you on your hip. The scorpion moves on, and the surface damage is not the issue... you don’t believe a bandage would be helpful for this wound. As the day goes on however you feel a headache, swelling of the area where the attack happened, and a general lethargy – it seems that your body is fighting whatever the scorpion injected into you. You do some fishing by the river, and have no luck today – you catch nothing, despite hours of effort. You decide to head in for the night, but nature has one more trick to play on you. As you begin to sleep, smaller scorpions enter your cave – you jump awake and carefully remove them from your home, finally sleeping after a long day of combat. You feel like a Warrior now.

Together you both head out, tracking and hunting a deer in the north-west. You each try to get one either side of a small herd, hoping to isolate one, which you succeed in doing – you both have brief visions of failure in different elements of hunting this deer, and strange spirits seem to be aiding you. You both pounce and with your combined strength subdue the deer without any injuries, hauling it to your cave home. There, through collective efforts, you skin, butcher, cook, and weave, ending up with two pairs of shoes and finishing touches to the tiger clothing made yesterday, a linen blanket, and enough spare meat for at least tomorrow and one of you the day after. You both sleep, feeling warmer the next morning.
Angst
The sun starts crawling upwards and you make your way toward the nearest cave. Exhausted and in great physical pain, you are vulnerable. You start gathering sticks, but there is little time to fortify your position before you spot the panther female from yesterday, here. Bad luck. You pull out your spear and prepare for another one of these confrontations… time passes, and the panther pounces. You try to dodge but not fast enough – the panther has you pinned. You strike with your spear but whatever damage you do you will never know. Its mouth at your neck, you feel great pain and the gushing of blood and then you feel nothing. And then you see nothing.
And then all you know is that although your avatar in this world is gone now, whatever essence that is you is still here. And then you see something… three scenes, somewhere else in the world. Which do you draw nearer to?
OOC: You can be reborn into the world. If you want to jump in immediately (assuming talonschild doesn't report back within 24 hours of this update) you can just take that character. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for one a turn for one of the couples to become pregnant and create a new avatar.
Double A
Status: Healthy. Fed. Well Fed (+1 AP). Hot.
Action Points: 4 AP
Traits: Warrior
Inventory: stone spear (2), sling (4), crab shield (3)
Stashed Nearby: fire
Your day of exploration begins with a stroll to the shore and then a swim to the south-east isle, which cools you down. From there you take your time surveying the wider area – the giant crabs moved here, it seems, and you see an endless ocean to the south. To the east there the main landmass keeps going, with more isles. Returning to land without incident, you hike up the mountain and at one of its peaks you get a view of the wider area in all directions – a coast that goes north, a large island to the west, and like you saw at the isle, an endless ocean to the south. With the rest of your waking day you try to create… crab exoskeleton armour… but this proves challenging and instead you end up simply making a crab shield out of the main part of your victim. Perhaps with rope you could fasten it to your body, but it also serves fine in your hand. You cook the last of your meat and sleep the night. You are awoken in the morning by a loud thunderous sound that seems to emanate from the mountain itself.

Certain of an imminent bear attack, you rally your confused friend to pre-emptive action. They seem dazed, their eyes looking into nothing, but they nonetheless start cooperating, bringing their spear and following you toward the bear. The two of you strike at it, and the battle is a fierce several minutes of dodging, spearing, running, and growling – the bear is enormous and will not go down even after numerous blows. It starts to retreat, but you do not give up – you and your friend take the rest of the day pursuing and fighting it, until it finally collapses. Dragging this massive creature to the camp fire is almost an action of its own, but you two defeated a mighty bear – with some harm. You both received injuries from its clawing counter attacks. Before the sun falls below the horizon you cut open the bear and both take some meat, cooking it by the fire, and eating for the night. It will still take a whole action to completely skin and butcher this thing, but you got what you needed tonight, and fall asleep. Having fought several battles with a spear at hand, Lord_Herobrine has become a proficient spearman and can expect to have multiple cumulative advantages in any combat where they are equipped with a spear.
OOC:
@talonschild you have
24 hours to indicate you will be sending orders for this turn. If ya don't say you're good to continue, this avatar may be taken by someone else or, if there's no takers, evaporate.

Orders due for
Thursday July 2nd!
Patch Notes
As per comments on Double A’s orders, there will be a new mechanic for
expanding your line of sight. By spending 1 AP to exit your vision cone or go to a suitable point of view (the top of a tall tree, a mountain), you can end your turn where you want to normally but retain a vision cone that expands beyond the normal range, centred from the location you spent the AP to survey.
From now on
clothing degrades when exposed to the elements – i.e. whenever you spend a decent amount of time outdoors or outside of your immediate home area (like hunting, exploring, etc).
Also from now on
meat is perishable and will last two days after which it is rotten, unless preserved somehow.
Role-playing post request
Come up with
in-game avatar names! We have some interesting languages developed, so I want to encourage folks to develop names for their avatars. If you don't want to commit to a language yet feel free to give an English translation of the meaning of the name (e.g. strong-as-tree, jaguar-killer, whatever), or to invent something that you'll eventually fit into a language.
